No there is no demo for Cubase. You may have to use your imagination with that one ;)
Just make sure if you do "try before you buy" and you end up liking it, you DO buy it yeah?

sx 3....everything is just so hard and different lol..also how do u put your effects on a channel??like eq reverd compresser and that
Posted - 2009/08/03 : 15:08:58
Hmm, i'm not sure if it's the same in SX3 as in 5 but in 5 there is a little "e" icon on every channel. Click on this icon and a window should pop up. This window should have a strip for inserts, sends and a box for EQing. Alternatively bring up the mixer (F3) and find the channel you want, it should have a drop down icon that should allow you to pick what the mixer displays. Inserts, sends, metre etc. Select inserts and you're away.
Like i say i'm not sure if this is the case with SX3 but this is how to do it in 5, give it a try if you still stuck let me know and i'll do some screenshots or something. Also i think either in this thread or another Triquatra posted up a video of the Cubase (i think it's for SX3) basics, try find this and look on youtube for more mate.
Apparently 5 fixed a load of issues people had with SX3 so bear that in mind before you rule out Cubase all together. My favourite new feature is the VST instrument channel as appose to MIDI channels, so much easier. I love Cubase 5! Give it time and you may too mate. Like i say gizza shout if you need.
EDIT
The video Triquatra posted, worth a look i guess.

glad to hear you chose fl lad...feel free to add my msn if ever need any advice.
emm depends what you are looking to get in tempo..if its a loop then open a fruity slicer..drag the sample from the menu on the side into the slicer and it whould slice it up and change the tempo to what you are working at..i often caine slicer..
another way is just drag the loop or vocal or watever into the top bar of the playlist where the automation clips goe and just time stretch it..hope that helped

You could use a tempo automation clip ^^
Select the area you want to change the tempo for, right click the bpm box and click 'Create automation clip'. You should get a box in the upper part of the playlist with a straight line. Now just make curves, slopes and whatever out of this line and the tempo changes accordingly

The automation way of changing the tempo on FL is a really shit and it would only automate the project tempo. I think Caller wants to change the tempo of individual samples, which can be done like CiALiN by using either FL Slicer, Slice X or by dropping the sample into the pattern area (the top bit) and then zoom in and drag the sample so it's tempo is correct.
Caller, if you need any help with anything feel free to send me a PM - I'm not a master but I can do a few things

Yeah Mortis, tempo automation isn't very precise is it :p
Also, if you know the original bpm of the sample, you can type it into the ID3 bpm tag, and then shove it in the sampler. If FL reads the bpm from there, it will automatically fit it to your project bpm, and you can just put it in the step sequencer ^^

I would advise against putting a sample (say if it's a drum loop or something) into the step sequencer, it's easier to put it in the pattern area.

massive help thanks for making this hapen, for most supportive peeps thank you
but just a quick one does fl let me save my work????
It does if you have the full version lol! The demo will only let you export to a wav or mp3 file, so you won't be able to go back and modify the actual project file.
