Seriously Force, Styles, Hixxy, Re-Con, Squad-E, Dougal or Insert Hardcore artist name here. Why won't you release you'r old stuff. What's the problem. is it just so you can get bookings. (Force & Styles & Raver Baby classic Sets or whatever) Is that what its all about trying to stay relevant and keep your names on flyers just by playing classic sets. I saw it said many times that raver Baby stuff got lost but if that's so why do you all keep playing it everywhere. I'll take MP3 if that's what you got. it's better than a crappy Vinyl rip. It's infuriating to see you treating the music that made you so poorly. Is there more money doing the occasional live show than releasing back catalogues. if so promoters stop booking these people stop putting their names up there stop allowing them to live off their past glories without doing anything to earn it.
I'm not looking for oh he won't release it because he is an arse. I genuinely want to know is there something else stopping them.
Also Sharkey you took peoples money and never delivered what you promised you are the worst of them all. At least the others don't take money and run half way through. (Unless there is a past incident I don't know about) YOU ARE AN ARSE. I hope everyone knows what you have done I hope this follows you around everywhere you go. Work, friends & home where ever. You want to fix it then get it sorted this has gone on too long. (As if anyone I'm aiming this at will ever read this HA HA) My Sharkey art thingy is hidden in the original packaging upside down in a draw, I can't look at it just makes me angry.

Lack of past releases , always down to money. I don't know the whole series, but I see that Hixxy owns the rights of Force & Styles, Darwin did a remix and it wasn't on full release, that kinda sums it all up to me.

When I came back to Hardcore after a long hiatus, he was running Raverbaby, doing HTID , pretty much had the market cornered. I might be wrong about it all, but to me, that's someone who wants it all for himself, and it seems it's just that attitude that fks it all up.

All about the money. Yes it's their career, yes it's their livelyhood but there is also a a need to be loyal to those who put that money in their pockets. All artists need to remember that.

The scene has no big money interest now, so I would have thought everything would have been on sale to make money from a scene that's really on it's arse.

BUt it doesn't end there, I spoke to a few people in the scene who are "names" these days and their attitude was ****ing ridiculous. Paranoid, upthemselves, like they are living on borrowed time in the scene. It's not a "happy raving family" anymore. That's why the scene is dead.

I agree, but i gave up hope years ago.

That way, I might be pleasantly surprised one day.

I know we're not entitled to anything, and artists can do whatever they like with their music, but it does seem bizarre given that the majority of the material we're talking about was released on vinyl/compilation albums already. The value of these back catalogues is only going to decrease over time; I can't really see there being a huge resurgence in demand in 10 years time or something!

The exclusivity argument kind of works, but I doubt it's for reasons of bookings; most "classics" sets are just that; the same massive tracks that were generally released on vinyl anyway. I really don't get it, unless the licensing issues are more complicated than we know? Might be in the case of a label like Jelly Baby (which had some licensed trance ripoffs), or perhaps there's some complication with AATW for the Force & Styles stuff? No idea

I brought the sharkey Back Catalogue mostly for Toy Town remixes & Vocal mix & the fracus & Darwin updates. There are a few other things in there I like but mostly not my thing. If we get toy town Vocal mix I?m happy. Although I fear this won?t happen which makes me sad. Another thing that confuses me is that a lot of hardcore compilation albums in the 2000s that also gave full length tracks when brought digitally mostly used Vinyl Rips. DAT machines were surely more in use, available & working than they are now. The DAT?s were in better condition so why didn?t they use them why use Vinyl. Hardcore Underground have shown it?s still possible to get this music and restore it but why not do it 10 - 20 years ago when it was easier. Some artists did use their DATS when putting out their music Tiny Tot - Discoland still sounds good today even though is was converted in the 90s and I?m so thankful to have it sounding as great as it did back then.

I'm still moderately optimistic about the Toytown mixes, and I already have the Vinylgroover ones. Still working on Bonkerz (it's delicate, but I think I can work it).

Haha no argument there (I'm one of those people too!). I was more thinking of F&S/Raverbaby

I wish I could believe that but I choose not to that way I won?t be disappointed. I?ve had my hopes raised for this project and Blu The Roof on too many occasions. I know you have done everything you can and have had a lot of stress from these projects so I?m not upset with you personally just more cautious of future projects & promises.

Couldn't agree more. I supervised the grading in April 2017 and personally paid ?12k to do so 😂

We're, unfortunately, at the mercy of the wider scene and operators within. We've had to drop the Gammer set from the physical release because of genuinely unclearable content but the rest is on track. Going forward we're attempting to deliver more complete bundles and avoid pre orders or merchandise. It's a shame, but I'm entirely aware others have been burned as much as us.😢

Before I say this I need to say I?m not trying to upset anyone so please don?t take this the wrong way. As I have said previously I?m not good at communicating and don?t really talk to people so I can mean one thing but say it wrong.
My upset with Blu The Roof is because I won?t be able to see it. Over the last 3 years a cataract is taking what remains of my sight. My other eye conditions are to complex to risk operation so it won?t be coming back. In I think it was 2017 you did screenings to people. I?m not able to go out so wasn?t able to attend. This frustrated me because people could go pay to see something I helped fund and haven?t seen. But it was all good because the backer surveys had gone out so it was coming soon. I?m sure you were thinking hooray it?s nearly over but As we know it wasn?t. In 2017 I would of been able to enjoy the 1080p version now you could put a 240p one on the disc and I wouldn?t notice it. I completely understand I?m a unique case and for most people they will be happy when they get it. For me it will be a sad day. I backed it because I wanted to experience an event something I can?t do in real life. I know stuff happened and it couldn?t be helped and again I?m not blaming you. I feel really bad for writing this but feel I should explain why I kept bugging and bringing it up. I hate bringing these things up because you did all you could. That?s why I aimed my original post at Sharkey not you. Please don?t take any of this the wrong way. Hoping I didn?t upset anyone. Anyways at least we will still have the separate audio for me to enjoy.

That really sucks, and I am sorry. The audio is post produced in multichannel (Atmos that folds down) and even the stereo version is solid. I have a screening room, at my home, which I just got up and running after 18 months. It's a decent sized screen. You're entirely welcome, and entitled, to come watch. Pm me!

My take on all this is its a big "**** you" and total disrespect to fans.

Big names were somewhat modest and more down to earth before the big money started rolling in.

In Happy Hardcore days the scene was small, most big names would have done it as hobby and for sod all cash. Most tracks were released. As soon as cash started to come into the scene, it all changed.

Look at Hixxy for example. He did loads of tracks for CLXH with the full versions mostly never released. No doubt because of the cash paid from CLXH being the motivator to make the tracks opposed to doing them for single releases. Plus not releasing stuff means people are more likely to go to the events to hear stuff they cant get anywhere else.

A lot of artists will see their tracks as their pride and joy and therefore will back them up and look after them (minus the occasional unexpected hard drive failure). Big name artists though see it as a product that made them the big money and so aren't as careful with them and the full masters end up being lost for good.

There's quite a few people who have got hold of unreleased dubplates and upload shitty quality rips and clips to youtube with a camera recording their speaker.

I've commented what I think of some of those people on YT before. They've got the dubplate which is the main envy and a collectors piece. Doing a high quality rip wouldn't devalue that dubplate, but it would preserve that music in this small scene. People have that mentality though of "I've got it, you haven't....Unlucky".

The sad thing is this is how a lot of old films were lost many years ago. Someone gets the master tape reel via working at a cinema, they hoard it without preserving it and when they die, family throw it all out thinking it's junk.

It's a shame to think of unreleased core tracks going the same way. Even with "Force and Styles - Sunshine", if someone ripped a HQ dubplate, how many people would dload it? 100 at tops maybe? Hoarding it will just mean it ends up being lost forever though.
