The Gammer remix was never released. I recall he said on a live stream it was coming out on together we rise like the sure feels good, save me & come running updates. It never happened. Does anyone know why he shut down together we rise. I thought as a Label it did really well.

The Styles remake from 2007 beats all other versions ive heard including the original by quite a distance imo. Great memories of that tune.

As for Together we rise, youve opened quite a large can of worms there mate 😂

So there is a story behind it? All I knew was they stopped releasing and every Monday morning I would go check to see if they released anything for about a year until I saw this.
https://youtu.be/zZMmFqgSeh4?t=406
Then I gave up hope.
What's the story?

Oh wait that's been edited. I know in that clip when it first came out Ravine asked about together we rise & Gammer said it's dead. Must be something interesting for them to edit it out after release.

The retro work of HU is welcome of course as always.

Squad-E is on this list. How? He hasn't produced anything proper since 2011.
I don't know how well his latest stuff went down at the pool / boat party.

For those who don't, the vinyl of Eye Opener was *terrible*. The digital release was on Dreamscape 2001 and.... not great (mono?). There was a DAT rip, performed, which Slipmatt did in the early noughties. It eventually found it's way to Al Storm on CD who then happily found it in his shed when he lived proximally to me. Slammin don't have it, Brisk/Trixxy/Anyone else didn't have it. We ripped it using Exact Audio Copy, which completed on a calibrated and setup ripping drive.... and as it finished the CD *SHATTERED* and bits stuck out of the front of the then less calibrated drive.

This was Eye Opener, ffs. It's ACTUAL madness.

CDJay

Jesus, Eyeopener was one of the tunes that hooked me in. I've got the 3 cd Brisk set planned for my next purchase, but any chance of Eyeopener or other tracks being available non-mixed?

I just... I can't even. There are so many obscure mixes and albums out there.

So many live rave recordings on tape and cd-r.

All bound to fail over time. If only we could build a massive database like a library of Congress for hardcore. It'll never happen thanks to rights issues. I just... I'd like to think that 50, 80 years from now there will be a decent record of this legacy.

Seriously, all praise to you, Jay.

I think we pulled the actual cd from sale due to low stock. I still have a few, so can re enable briefly on request. Or just nab the digi release 🙏

CDJay

So should I jump on that now, or are there a few CD releases planned that I'd be able to bundle the shipping with? I have to ask since being in the States, shipping costs are annoying if I double-dip.

I still hope that we might be able to source a bunch of the Raver Baby stuff from various means. Obviously I have a few classics from that label I'm concerned about (namely anything that was used in the happy 2b hardcore, since that's where most of my memories are.)

It seems... really odd that with the hard drive crashs, the drives weren't saved and sent off to a forensic recovery lab. Certainly the cost could be covered through crowdfunding? Probably far too late now.

Data recovery is far from a sure thing. We spent months and thousands of pounds back in 2013/2014 for the Sharkey album and barely got anything 😂

As I noted prior, we're reliant on hunting down cdr promos from nearly two decades ago and hoping some still work 😔

USH on facebook is quality, you should join, unless you are an MC then I would advise against it!

We're, unfortunately, at the mercy of the wider scene and operators within. We've had to drop the Gammer set from the physical release because of genuinely unclearable content but the rest is on track. Going forward we're attempting to deliver more complete bundles and avoid pre orders or merchandise. It's a shame, but I'm entirely aware others have been burned as much as us.😢

CDJay

is that code for " Gammer being a massive ****" ?

He's far from the villain in all this. No need to guess who is, though, it'll become clear soon enough 😂

The USH forums were toxic and full of roasters. Can imagine the facebook one being the same.

People say this, but a lot of the rebuilding was linked. Some of the top tier took offense at free speech and intelligent commentary, but as I always said "if you don't want abuse, stop deserving it". Yes, now, it's largely parodied content but it's less of a joke than the people who sold the golden goose up to buy a car on lease 😂

Respect your audience. Particularly ones with iqs exceeding double digits. Chasing invisible audiences and pandering to the LCD was the first specific thing that led us here.
