well of course comparing it to the other 4 HU albums, it's not necessarily going measure up. i won't argue with that. BUT this album isn't supposed to be compared to them, as it doesn't follow the same guidelines and/or formula. i think this album is more about showcasing tunes from specific labels, and artists from those labels, than just trying to make an incredible mix.
For the most part, that's what CXH is about. Comparing this HU album to CXH, look how much more variety in each mix there is in HU2010.

Fair point, but an album biased towards showcasing particular labels/DJ's is still just that-regardless of the quality/variety of the output.
I'm still judging it on it's merits - just finding it harder to work out what they are!

I think it's more symptomatic of a poor year for release quality frankly, and not to mention sharkey probably keeping out his tracks for bonkers, Gammer has produced a load of shite, dougal and scott brown have been quiet. Only brisk has produced much good in my opinion this year.

Hi all
I just wanted to add a few words to clear a few things up as a couple of folks seem to assume things (no digs intended)
Yes there was no Sharkey material on this mix and there are reasons why this has happened.
I have been seriously ill over the last 18 months and i found out some bad health news early this year after many trips to the doctor we found out what was going on. I have had a major operation this year and i am due one more. I have been at the doctors now every week for months having treatment so this has meant that i have been running a very light studio diary and weekend schedule.
I did want to pull out of the album at the time as i was not feeling very well at all but props up to Jon Cdjay, Gaz, Nick & kev as they all wanted me to participate and they got me on board
I do have material that could have gone onto the album but i kept it off. Until my health is back to fitness then i am sitting on all of it and nothing will happen with then. I know people might take that negativly but i want to be fighting fit and firing on all cylinders when my material comes out.
There is a Sharkey website being built at the moment and some of my material will be available on there. I aim to have that ready by January when i go back to work full time. The other projects i have in the pipeline will be announced when i have official dates fully ready. Until then i am sorry folks my health comes first.
I am now feeling alot better and it has taken a long time for me to get this far. I am back in the gym now which 5 months ago was a pipe dream and feeling better each day so i am gonna get back to my day and be very scared of my fitness instructor who is a beast and im not looking forward to my hour cardio today :)

Yeah I was disrespectful, but I apologised to those I felt deserved an apology.
The pictures were pure banter. How can they be perceived as disrespectful?
The only serious parts were when I continuously asked where the boundaries on mixes are. The only conclusion from the thread I gathered was that a mix using a released track was illegal.
I dont want to revisit the saga. Its one that I'd rather leave in the summer.
