This arrived fairly quickly compared to other orders I've made from the UK, only took a few days :p Haven't had the chance to listen to all of it, but what I have listened to sounds good. I for one am very happy about there being a decent amount of gabba on this album ;D

got mine yesterday as well! i'm in the US so it takes awhile, plus i didn't pre-order i ordered it the day after it came out on juno.

so far i love all of cd 1!!! no surprise there since i'm a huge fan of the nextgen/bb labels.

i'm pretty picky about my freeform, but so far listening to the 1st 10 tracks of the freeformation cd, i'm loving it.

skimmed thru the 3rd cd quickly while i was ripping the tracks to my computer but so far everything i heard i liked!

Got to say that all 3 cd's are spot on!

Darwin's CD is the fave but I like em all. Love the diff styles across the whole package. Some nice breakbeat on the last track on CD 2. But so many standout tracks - loving the gabba too and the 1996 style Scottish techno and 'real' happy hardcore sounding tracks with that bang up to date sound - as exciting as when I first head that kinda stuff back in the day - but modern and fresh.

Come Home is awesome.

Why isn't all hardcore made this way.

I never really got through CD 1. Didnt get into it really. Always seemed to switch to CD 2 halfway through CD 1. CD 2 is the best IMO, and CD 3 is fantastic. But iunno, CD 1 didnt really get my attention.

Intro to CD 2 though is a bit annoying :P no offense. i always skip past that part and get to the good stuff

Honestly....this album makes me think of Bonkers 7 (the sound, not the tempo). I felt that many of the tracks were just bland, or a mixture of pop ("Out of Control") or just so much trance influence that it didn't sound fresh. "Pump of the Noize 2010" is an awesome track, and so is "Start the Party". My favorite track is "Lets Live Forever". Hopefully, there will be some more happy/cheese on upcoming albums.

Loooooving this!

Best tunes:

* Out Of Control
* Come Home
* Clear Blue Skies
* Let's Live Forever
* Code Of The Street

Most of CD2 and some tunes on CD3!

I actually love Wet Knickers... Those conversations are just hilarious!

Awesome stuff CDJay, it's 100 times better than Clubland series!

Clubland does not compare to Hardcore Underground.

First of all, i'm a big brisk fan but i hate it when he and ham put tracks in at less than 3 mins because if i do like them, i'm gonna be annoyed that it's half a tune.

From disk 1 i like the first two tracks out of control and love infected. Rock da bass is good and Run 2 you is epic.

I'd be majorly pissed if i hadn't gotten fire and flames as a single already so they got away with that 1min 47 pittance (really does annoy me when they do that)

Al storm should have his hands cut off for bassface utterly dreadful.

Really like nothing in our way and lets live forever is the best track on the album and i've been waiting a long time to add it to my collection.

The gabba seems pretty typical but code of the street seems to be the best.

Disk 2

Already own these on mp3 single:-

Check this shit out
reality control
atomic orbital (kevin energy remix)

Happy to add these to the ipod:-

hometown
Chaldea
fundamental darkness
At last
Lost in time

The rest aren't very interesting although there is some killer tunage on there.

Disk 3

Undoubtedly the hardest disk on the CD and i DO LIKE IT HARD! however, the hard version of STOMP (which i have on single) is not enough to rescue this horrendous disk. I Really like Darwin but i don't think the tracks of his on here really do him justice to be honest and Mark smith has always played a load of sub standard and seemingly (not really belonging anywhere) tracks. I like some of his stuff but his selections never quite touch the right buttons for me.
The highlight of this disc has to be the worst track on the CD altogether terrorizin.

He must have had a serious head injury when he made this piece of crap and his other ear offender bassface. He normally makes good tunes so i'm not sure what happened there.

Overall Disk 1 is the best on there for tuneage with the only let down is the short tracks which screw up what could have been awesome.

Disk 2 has some real crackers on it but it feels a very Kevin Energy CD and i really don't see the point in sharkey even being involved with it being his second project (third if you count the never coming out album). The lack of his tunes on it for favour of bonkers shows you that. He should have been left of it and someone else who could have done with a break involved.

Disk 3 is awful as stated before.

Verdict is that HU 2010 is a great album when placed against the backdrop of 2010 as a whole. It's an impressive compilation and would have been value for money without the disk 3 traversty.

Compared to its previous HU counterparts, it is good but not the best. HU4 takes that trophy by far and it's a shame it doesn't match up. We are in a time of lack of CD releases tho which gives this album a big leg up. Would it have been as good if it came out in 2006? probably not as it was an awesome time for compilations.

Give me a clubland Xtreme hardcore Hixxy disk for disk 3 and you'd have a top album in my book but that's just me (his disk on CXH6 Was ****ing Epic).

Quite correct. An amazing CD from Hixxy. I've a feeling the next one will be crap tho... back to his normal form.

This might not go down too well but i much prefer honesty over sycophancy any day.

So far (after quite a few listens over several weeks), i'm distinctly underwhelmed. Perhaps the lack of a decent numbr of reviews says it all?

All 3 mixes have some fantastic tunes on them but i couldn't help but compare them with the earlier albums - and right at this moment the comparison isn't a particularly favourable one.

At first i thought about blaming myself and my changing tastes (i.e. I liked the music more 5 years ago). Trouble is, that won't work because this COULD have been from 5 years ago - particularly the freeform and no amount of listening will make my untrained ears hear any differently. I must admit i often think i'm moving away from listening to hardcore but my house and car are full of the stuff, and i still get as excited about a huge tune as i did 20 years ago so it's not that either.

I wasn't expecting a major musical revolution but each new Hardcore Underground album (for me personally anyway) has always brought with it something new or unusual, this one is just a Hardcore album. yes, a decent one but not a great one.

HU1 is my favourite Hardcore album of the past 10 years if not ever.
HU2 took it's time to impress me but got there eventually.
3&4 were both excellent in their own way - whether for the daring to be different or just spot on tune and artist election.

This one doesn't have the killer tunes or the longevity/attention grabbing tunes of the others. People keep banging on about the huge amount of talent and brilliant music out there but i've been waiting for it for about 4-5 years now and i still see chuff all on the horizon!

Suppose you could compare it to how Man United are faring in the league so far this season - unbeaten but well below their usual high standards!
