Lol I once knew someone (an American) who called Drum & Bass 'Techno' lol

Yes, that's what the whole topic has been about lol, calling stuff Techno that isn't Techno.

Yeah I know what you mean, EDM isn't much better either! Electronic instruments don't just produce "dance music" anymore, so comparing lumping happy hardcore in the same umbrella as Drum n Bass is like saying that Blues and Rock music are the same because they both use guitars.

I love the american ravers so much but some of them really haven't got a clue, I told one of them I liked Hardcore they thought I meant porn, I said "No, like Happy Hardcore" and I got "Ohhh you mean like techno?"

And these are some of the ravers! I guess they must have a real problem with people going to raves because it's the "in" thing to do :(

thats actually kind of surprising, theres almost no excuse for it in the UK considering every single media outlet (including the entireity of the BBC) refer to dance music ....as Dance music.

otherwise they are just doing it to piss you off, which is far more likely :P

I don't know but me personally , I don't classify anyone who goes to a rave as a "raver". You have to some how differentiate between those who are there for the music and those who are there to be apart of the "scene" , well whatevers left of it -.-.

A true raver can name almost every song that a DJ drops that night. While as for the others may just be there for drugs or to look like a prostitot. But maaaayyybbe we shouldn't get in to that part of it. heh
