when i first joined hhc.com i remember that everyone would get mad for calling electronic music techno but i grew up with everyone just calling it that even now people come up to me and say your that dude who makes techno music and i reply uh you mean electronic music? haha i guess its an american thing. i wish i was an aussie or from the uk xD more australia tho haha

yes, american's are the main culprits for it, though i still love you guys to pieces, some of the friendliest people on earth.

It doesn't really bother me, it just shows how unpopular electronic music is compared to here. A somewhat daunting thought!

Yeah I'm gonna start telling my friends to call it EDM, the metalheads. I actually met someone who knew what Happy Hardcore was and that alone completely blew my mind ha ha.
I do think Electronic is becoming more popular in the States, half of the Pop songs today are sorta like House/Electro. It's a start at least.
When people call it techno online, I just link this to them.

that site has missed 'Dub', 'Breakbeat', and a couple of other significant Electronic sub-genres. Such as Electro and Funky Bass
