I see and agree with Mortis' view, as the same thought occured to me when i read through the TL. having said that the tracklist does look ****ing sweet. Though i can see Al Storm's disc being a dissapointment again, s'all about CD4 for me.

How people can moan at this tracklist or say its not underground is beyond me.
The guys at HU do a fantastic job of delievering these albums to us and all some people can do is moan. They dont have to do it and they are not a big corporation like AATW with loads of resources.
I think the tracklist looks immense, if you dont like it, then have fun listening to HTID 3 or the next Bonkers, because along with CXH and the helter skelter series they are the only other hardcore compilations you have to choose from.
95% of the artists on this compilation would never appear on Bonkers or HTID now, so is it underground???? Damn Right it is.
What was the last big compilation that you saw Oli G or Lost Soul mix a disc on? Like Oli said, this albums tracks are picked by what the DJs like, not by business sat round a table saying 'Well Scooter are popular atm, we should include them'
I found out a few of the tracks that were on this album a week or so a go and now Ive been shown the full tracklist I cant wait.
Big up to CDJay, Fracus and everyone else whose lives revolve around bringing us these wicked compilations, CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS ONE!!!!!

Their CD is "pumping". It will make you want to punch the air. Or confuse you. One of those two extremes.
We looked at the feedback on the last album and did our best to react. People wanted a dedicated freeform CD; it's there. Some people wanted a genre mashup w/ lots of tracks and DJ trickery; it's there. Some people will obviously want a more down the line album mix, but with a bit of invention; it's there. Some people want to see breakbeat hardcore getting pushed amongst more casual-raver-palatable stuff; it's there. Some people want to see a broad range of artists both established and new, covering all the substyles that modern UK Hardcore ( and even older stuff ) has to offer; it's there.
I won't defend the DJ selections, and I'd like to see more new names on there too, but the material that has been selected has been selected with a view to supplying both the best album/mixes whilst retaining a representative angle.
There were a LOT of new producers who nearly made it on, and as always we'll be on their case as soon as HU4 is "done" supporting them in their endeavours even if unrelated.
The standard of submissions was higher than it's ever been, but that is equally true of the wider "known" artists who submitted alongside everyone else.
We're just one album series, and every single time we do this brings us one step closer to an asylum or living in a box. Perhaps both, alternating.
HU has *always* been about putting together a "compilation" album. It's not an up and comings album, it's not a commercial album, it's an actual bona-fide *compilation* album. Count the number of artists featured, factor in the breadth of styles and camps represented.
Everyone involved in the HU series, including this iteration, has a strong respect for the roots of modern hardcore and I'd argue that it's evident more on this volume than previous ones.
Obviously there's self interest and bias present but I'll say this: this IS the best volume of Hardcore Underground yet. We've delivered before, and if nothing else the feedback has been typically fantastic, so perhaps a modicum of trust is warranted? I've heard the mixes, and I will stand here hand on heart and say this is the best album I've ever been involved in, and arguably one of the best UK Hardcore albums of *all* time.
If that isn't enough.... *shrugs*. We can't actually work any harder, or do any better. I seriously doubt we'll ever be able to match this.

errr
From a quick glance, I'd say 50% of the artists on the tracklist have been on major compilations such as Bonkers.
Not complaining though, the tracklist looks immense. I'm definitely not disappointed.

Whilst people like Oli G have been on Bonkers in the past, I'd be suprised if they featured in the present.
Just one example ;)

When i get told by the only DJ who would possibly consider me for inclusion on bonkers that my stuff is too purist... id say CDJays previous estimate was right :D

I think if you read my quote it says 95% of the artists on this compilation would not appear on Bonkers NOW
They may have in the past, but Bonkers is a different compilation now.

Lol at the 'slutski and al porn' ;)
i dont see the issue with the new artists, thing....
clubland or htid would probably pull out a selection from about 5 different artists. half the cd would be made up of 10 DS remixes, and 8 more of re-con remixes....
this has a huge range of artists, many i havn't heard of...
its featuring artists that dont get allot of producing publicity. im keen to hear what kutski can do, more entity stuff, and smaller artists from different labels...
stop complaining!

I've no idea how underground this compilation looks - and I don't give a flying f*ck. What I know is that HU4 is going to be another epic compilation, full of well produced and diverse music I love with every cell of my body. Somehow the undergroundness of it seems secondary - if HU is an example of what overground hardcore sounds like, then it might just as well be totally overground. Waaay overground. Like, sky high overground, wooo! Omnomnom.
