Moreso if it's sealed. Smart people will therefore by two, and keep one sealed.

I pre-ordered my copy we while ago, glad I did because I couldnt actually bare to think what I would be like if I didnt get a copy of this fine looking album. HU3 is probaly the best album I own and i have a serious amount of hardcore so hopefully its sequel will replace it as my favourite.
Really looking forward to 21st October, wishing right now it arrives on time as Im off driving round florida at the start of November, me and the girl need this album to listen too on our journey! Driving about with HU4 blasting sounds like heaven to me... Thanks for all your hard work in all of the Hardcore Underground series you make people happy. Yeo!

So, doing even 50 limited edition units could run a cost approaching 5 figures.
Not viable ;)

Yeah, I was about to say that.
Manufacturing CDs only becomes financially viable after 500 units (because that's the point where replication becomes cheaper than duplication). This is because they need to create the master disc they will press from, which is expensive.
For printing, the usual cutoff is 2500 units but it depends on the size you're printing and on the size of the offset printer. This is because, again, for offset printing, they need to create the "plate" they will use to print. You can do digital printing but not at the same level of quality.
For something like HU4, where there's assembly required, folding, etc, I can only assume it's even more expensive.

I think I would be up to take the challenge and make 50 limited edition (special packaging) copies for a future HU album, for free.
Just so you know..

Its safe to continue ordering from Play.com for now even if it says out of stock, as they will certainly be able to get another shipment sorted before stock gets too worryingly low. They do offer free delivery too.
If you know anyone else who is thinking of buying HU4 though, it might be worth alerting them to the fact that the window of opportunity to buy might end up being smaller than last time. We will obviously do our best too but I'd hate to think of anyone not being able to get hold of a copy.

I've been really unimpressed by hardcore lately (AATW seem to be taking over, the arses!) Haven't even thought about buying a CD since I got HU3 (which was AMAZING btw) and before that Hardcore Nation: Next Generation.
I've yet to be disappointed by a hardcore underground CD. Preordered from play.com on the 10th without a second thought. Can't wait til Monday!
I don't know the ins and outs of licensing, etc, but is there a reason you can't sell this on iTunes?

play.com says in stock again now :)
Also, someone mentioned selling on itunes....I dont see why anyone would want to buy it from itunes when you can get a hard copy for £9 with free delivery? :s

Several reasons: -
1) CDs take up physical space.
2) Music from iTunes is already tagged, so I don't need to go through all of the tracks adding information myself. Also comes with album art.
3) No need to rip the CD to my computer.
4) They sell 50mb connections in this country (England) now and even faster elsewhere! It would take less than a minute to download.
5) Digital music isn't limited in stock, it's infinite!
6) You can preview all of the songs before buying an album.
7) Things like postal strikes will not interfere with downloading music.
Don't get me wrong, I understand why people buy CDs, I just think downloading has its advantages! I just sold my CD collection

Has anyone had their dispatch confirmation email from play.com yet?
I've not had mine yet. I'm sceptical we're going to get the CD on Monday if they haven't been posted yet.

no, no email from play yet - then again, as long as it comes - thats all i care about!
postal strikes are about to hit in - so even when it is shipped probably best to be patient - its going to be WELL worth it! :)
