i'm referring to the red dots projected onto the platter,on technics they are unique and on every other deck they're useless.

on the geminis you'll get exact pitch displayed,on technics you can find these exact pitches: -3.3, 0, +3.3, +6 - regardless of whether it's on 33 or 45 rpm.

looking at the dots you'll notice that if you move the pitch then the dots will change speed/direction/stand still.

when the top line is standing still: +6
2nd from top: +3.3
3rd from top (big dots): 0
bottom: -3.3

You can also use the strobes to see if your decks are running right. Just make sure that the pitch slider accurately corresponds to the pitch indicated by the strobes.

yeah word lads.

for those that dont know...those dots are there so you can configure your pitch POT setting (a little knob under your platter you can turn to make your pitch anything from +4% max to +12%max) i think the factory setting is to have the +6% dot standing still when the pitch slider is on 6

there also handy to see if your quarts lock is working well and good @ 0 pitch the big dots should give the illusion that they are not moving
