Or so I've heard.

Is there anything that is just as cool but good for pressing? Something that has everything built-in (samplers, softsynths, etc..), but is a tiny size??

Most software all in one things are not really that good quaility, BUT then again I am not an expert on it, if I was buying a hardware / software solution I would buy a Pulsar 3 card from Creamware... I have a Puslar 1 card and it rocks hard... Scott Brown also uses a Pulsar 3 card.

Interesting. I know that FLoops can out at 48Khz, which is the same as DAT, but I only go 44.1kHz

I was thinking about a TerraTec DMX 6-Fire LT, which is a $349 AUS, and it doesn't look half bad.

I've not heard that. Surely the FLoops out is only as good as the sound card you have and the samples etc' you put in it. I would have thought that FLoops sound quality is as good as any other pc based software. When you say bad for vinyl, d'you mean like sound compressors and stuff or just poor quality samples in FLoops?

Mostly harmless...

Yeah! That's what I would have thought. I've had dubs cut from Reason and they sound sweet. From all the hype about FLoops being great for beginners and real easy to use, I really would have thought that it would not fall down on such a flaw. I've used Floops, but never had anything pressed from it. I always thought it sounded okay, but not having taken it to a pressers I cant tell. Quite surprised actually...!

Mostly harmless...

I don't know the technical details on Fruitloops I am just going by what I am hearing... but in saying that I have heard tracks done totally in Reason and it sounds fine, even pressed on vinyl from Reason.
