Well he is gay, so that's not a far stretch...

bit uncalled for..

I was clearly joking I wouldn't make an offensive comment like that and put it on the forum, that's what private messages are for.

And you are the least person out there to judge what's uncalled for and what isn't considering the douchebaggery you are involved in online.

You mistake douschebaggery with discrimination
and my douschebaggery is always warranted ;)

I'm starting to dislike people more and more. The society in general, even? I feel like I belong to the few % that actually have a functional brain. Maybe it could be just who I am and how I act and react that puts me in an awkward social spot.

I have some conditions, like I don't want these old pervy men to contact me and that's my first rant: some of them still do even though it should be the first thing they read... But of course, the majority only looks at the pictures. This profile covers everything that you need to know for a first contact. So some people start writing, some start off nicely and some just go like "hey" and those conversations usually die after: Me: "Hey"... Him: "what's up?"... Me: "Not much, <doing this generic thing>, <maybe add that I just got home from the gym>, you?"... Him: "ok, not much here"... and there the convos end cause I sit there thinking that those kind of short, closed replies are just annoying and if you two seconds ago initiated a convo at least show some interest in continuing it?

Cut the foreplay and just ask, man.

quote:
Next rant is not about any specific community but people's in general inability to be honest. This goes for anyone. Why can't the majority just say what they actually think and not sugarcoat or straight up lie!?

quote:
I've become so suspicious of everyone that I always expect the worst from people and if I get told reasons for actions or situations I am always skeptic and rarely trust anyone from the get-go because a lot of times I'm too nice (I've heard this a lot) and people like to take advantage of that I guess. I feel like I've learnt the hard way.

I am Jack's inflamed sense of rejection.
quote:
I'm also a very lonely soul for being very social, happy and fun. I've never liked it, I've always wanted that one friend you always call every night or hang out with but I've never had that and people have said since I was like 13 years old "it'll get better in high school..." "it'll get better when you get a job...", and what's their excuse now?

My dad never went to college, so it was real important that I go.
So I graduate, I call him up long distance, I say "Dad, now what?" He says, "Get a job."
Now I'm 25, make my yearly call again. I say Dad, "Now what?" He says, "I don't know, get married."

quote:
I'm very liked at workplaces and people who attend my GF classes at the gym. Still I can never get one good friend. All I do is sit in front of the computer, have classes at the gym or go to work. I rarely have any social activities outside the gym and I do try but rarely get through. I've had some guys tell me "I don't believe you've only had two boyfriends!?" (last one was three years ago :o)... so I wonder, am I that hard to like or be around? It sucks! I'm 24 years old and ticking and I'm panicing - I thought it was bad when I was 18 but that's nothing compared to how I feel these days.

How embarrassing - a house full of condiments and no food

quote:
I'm really sorry for this random rant but I had to get shit out of me. I don't blame you if you didn't read that wall of text. :D

"Any last words?"
"I can't think of anything."

Quite the opposite here! Met both my ex's online, and some other few nice dates. Rarely met anyone I straight up thought: "Oh man" about. :)

I'm not even 19 yet I ask myself exactly that question.

People always say things like that on this site. But never actually gay people, at least as I've noticed. Gays here are so civilized, and the rest of us are on the path of making an orgy in Hardcore Heaven or something.

Well how many gay people are on this site? I think you are probably very wrong lol.
I also felt the same at 25 as at 24, and every other year. There is virtually no difference. Purely a psychological thing. The less you care what society thinks of you the better.

Ok obvs i havent read all of this but...
I dunno, I just think its a big thing to decide all humanity is awful because your not having luck on online dating. I think most men online are more looking for hook ups and even the ones that aren't, you just might not be their type. I don't get much attention on online dating sites but then I don't irl so I don't imagine ppl will start falling at my feet. I dunno, the right person will come along, probably, but it doesn't mean they are all shits because they arent into you. That sort of stuff hurts but you don't need to get pissy about it is all. Hope that doesnt sound too harsh.

Quicksilver, I did not know you were gay!

My two biggest problems with online dating is 1) Finding another gay guy who's Christian and at least goes to church and 2) Finding someone who can tolerate my music. I have dated 3 guys. The first guy was the overly jealous type with no car or job. The 2nd guy wasn't out to this family, and the 3rd guy was my longest relationship lasting 9 months. None of them could stand my music, and I am very passionate about my music.

It's the same for me as well. I go to raves, I go to parks, I go to bookstores trying to find that one special friend. I just moved to a new apartment complex and I've met a guy, maybe something will spark, who knows? Chill. You're 24. I'm 25.

This is a dichotomy. I can't begin to comprehend how you manage to justify it.

lol yea I don't believe homosexuality and religion mix very well. It boggles my mind the existence of gay mormons and gay catholics who continue to practice their religion.

But there are some Christian churches who are very accepting of homosexuality here in the US, episcopal and Presbyterian churches being 2 of them.

Ya, I'm joining an Episcopal church I've been attending for the last 2 years.

And England and Australia too. One of the heads of the Uniting Church of Australia (amalgamation of methodist + some presbyterian and some never-heard-of's) is homosexual.

The fact that churches are accepting of it doesn't change the fact that it is dichotomous. It just means the churches really are not the christian churches they claim to be.

Does it have to be dichotomous?

In general, yes, it really does. The justifications necessary simply cannot be reached if integrity is to be maintained.

Because some dude in the bible said so? There were a lot of other stuff in there too that we don't condone. I don't see homosexuality being any different from the other stuff. There is not a single church that take the bible literally.

You should not be so quick to jump to inane conclusions. If you bothered to look you may find them. More to the point, can churches that don't take the bible literally be considered Christian churches? I would suggest not.
