It's hard to explain but to me it seems the newer hardcore sound is missing something, the sounds are too "perfect" and the flow often to "Smooth" if you can see what I mean, It's bloody hard to explain. (Just listen to some older tunes then some newer tunes they just seem "over produced" kinda)

Yeah but i still think if the song is good (as in good meody) then it dosn't matter how overproduced it is, it will still be good :)

^^ oh, so you think the tracks aren't as good because they're too good?
Seriously, though, I understand what you're saying ... with the tracks sounding so clean it's almost easy to forget that this is supposed to be an underground scene, and our music just isn't meant to be produced to the same high standards as the more mainstream varieties, is it?
Honestly, it's a lose-lose situation for the producers here - pull off a half-assed effort and people say it isn't good enough, but work on it and produce it well and it becomes overproduced. What do you do?

^^ breaks add an extra dimension to hardcore, especially if the track's at the slower end of the spectrum. Me, I like a hard, fast kickdrum, but usually I wouldn't mind a bid of breaks action so long as it doesn't overpower the kick.
