Yeah if you were going to get something better then it would be because you are using it for recording, where it matters a lot that the A/D conversion is good (for obvious reasons), but you're not so it's not so important. A low end professional standard interface (one of the M-Audio external interfaces or something) would be more than good enough for what you want it for.
