Was suspended from work since Monday afternoon because of questionable transactions. Pretty much I took a percentage off for damaged goods and display shoes so that customers can go ahead and buy them. Just got the call today that yup I'm terminated.
So now I'm stuck with looking for a new job, yet I don't even feel a damn thing about getting fired for this one. Am I supposed to break down in tears and shit or something lol? Anyone care to share their own personal stories of termination?

Only time I ever got fired from the very few jobs I had was when I didn't turn up the next day after a court case, no need to guess why lol...

Were you suppose to take off a percentage? Sounds to me you were doing the company a favor and making them money for something they might have not been able to sell. You might find the HR department is doing their job but actually terminated a good employee, I would write a letter to your CEO or whoever is at the top saying you were selling units that no one else could sell. Don't make it sound like you were unfaired treated, make it to the point and sound like they are crazy for not seeing your sales ability.

To be completely honest it was the few transactions that were for customers who were indecisive about the product and as last resort I said I'll give them a 10% discount. Also a couple of them I gave them the sale discount a day early. It's something that everyone has done, and probably still does. Hourly wise I get paid the most in my department. And I am a constant headache to my current manager lol. I'm not worried about how unfair I'm treated, unless I find out that I'm the only one being terminated for what I've been doing and knowing full-well how many other people have done it.
The timing just sucked though. I come home Monday to find out that the house we're renting off of my sister might be sold by the end of the month. So I not only have to look for a new job, but also have to look for a new place to live, as well as take some time off to throw away a bunch of useless crap lol. And on top of that I haven't saved much for my trip to Spain.
But such is life. Just tweaked my resume a little and now on to find out where I'm able to send it off to.

I think the breaking in tiers is for the people that have worked in the same place all their life and know of no other life.
If you get fired in US do you just not go to work the next day? If i got fired, i could still work for 2 months, cause I've been there over 4 years.

Tbh i think that's a bit harsh.
I work in retail as well. The discount to make a sale is something i do frequently, especially in this economy people feel like they need to be getting a "deal".
I'm the store manager and my boss encourages that kind of thing. 90% of something is better than 100% of nothing. I would never reprimand any of my staff for doing anything like that - unless they do it unnecessarily. In which case it'd be more of a lesson in making them understand when and when they can't do that and how much they can give. In saying that though, i train my staff well so they know that any way.
Think it's pretty ridic that you got FIRED over a 10% discount. I just can't see the reasoning in that if the sale wasn't going to be made otherwise. Such is life i guess.

sorry to hear that but if anything its their lost really, it is is quite common place to sell ex display/damaged stock anyway for a fraction of the price. did your bosses think that they could sell then a full price? if so they must be greedy bastards

well this is Macy's, a large department store chain. Most of the stuff isn't sold at regular price and usually in retail the regular price of an item is about a 400% markup, although some items are less but that's usually things like electronics.
Anyways the location I'm at has a large loss every year due to theft, either internal or external. Because of that they're trying to be strict and do whatever they can to make sure their loss is less, which firing employees won't work. Not to toot my own horn but the quality of workers they hirer just gets worse and worse.
I've sent in resumes and applications to a few more people so hopefully I get a quick response from some of the companies. I can't afford to be jobless for more than a few weeks.

Sorry to hear you lost your job man. I haven't read the entire thread, but sounds like it was for a pretty ridiculous reason.
Hope this doesn't affect your HTID In The Sun plans - I know you're fcuking pumped for that!

Am I the only who sees how obscene this all is??
O.o
I mean monitarism?
Using money?
Get it??
No?
How about I put it like this then..
Having another authority decide whether you can have fun or not??
:-?
(I Still dont get that, and I am glad, because it means I have a Soul)
Why should your Job, essentially, decide what you?
For example Why should we have a system, where we have money thats pays a "Wage", essentially a contract on what you can and cant do, depending on how much of a good little wage slave you've been?
Only a hyprocritical Sociopath would defend such a system of Hyprocrasy.
Your Job fires you, essentially dictating that you cant do something...
:-S
And people accept this?
A vote for ANY politcal party is a vote for monetarism.
Why do we even still have a monetary system?
Is this the work of the
Trilazen Ze Commisionstein?

Whats an USH SYKEE??
What the OP said upset me, it upsets me someones boss makes it difficuly for them to do the thing they love.
I dont want to live in a world like that frankly.
One day, assuming we dont come accross evil obstacles we'll have a world of unlimited abundance, and work will ONLY be a Voluntary thing people do to help and enrich peoples lives, and be of the betterment of themselvs and others, instead of to further the Cold institutions of proffit, greed, and want.
My mind was born that way, it dont buy all this Conservative propoganda of how Greed is a human instict....
I know what I dont like about the world now, I dont need a History book or any degree to tell me that.
