I always thought that too. Rauru was already dead. Saria was killed when the Forest Temple monsters got her. Darunia was killed by Volvagia because he didn't have the Megaton Hammer. Ruto got caught by the Water Temple boss and was killed. Impa went to seal Bongo Bongo again and was killed (she obviously failed to seal him away). Link severely injures Nabooru when she was possessed and Koume & Kotake finish her off. You free their spirits (or unlock their power) in Ganon's Tower when you have to shoot the light barriers.

I never thought about it like that, but yea. They all pretty much did die. But if after Ganon was sealed away, and he returned the master sword back to the temple of time, he reverts back to childhood. Does that mean the sages remained dead? Or do they all come back to life?

They never went on to become sages. Wind Waker mentions it at some point I think. The childhood Link from OoT and MM never returned to Hyrule (hence why Hyrule got flooded). He got lost in the Lost Woods after he was finished in Termania and became a Stalfos. It's theorized that the child Link from OoT and MM is the same Stalfos that teaches Link moves in Twilight Princess, even though it's just a theory, it makes sense.

Just got this today. :) Loving the art direction! Still getting used to the motion controls but this is keeping me hooked so far. Also liking the character the facial expressions and animations on the characters, gives them more life than just standing there with one expression. I especially love the shopkeeper who sulks when you walk away ahaha.

To be honest, I mostly got negative thigs to say about skyward sword :(

The Poor stuff:

Played it at first at a mate's place. The Framerate ws horrible, every 5th
frame was skipped, all the time, not at specific places.

Then when I got home and popped it into my wii, I had no problems with
the framerate, but then I noticed the screen was poluted by dots and upward-
scanlines. I'm using the EDTV settings on my Wii, I don't know what my friend
had, but it looks silly, basicly everything infront of me to 5 meters, and after
5.5 meters are blurry. I know that Twilight Princess was made for the GameCube
in mind, but come on. Skyward Sword reminds me more of OoT or MM than TP...

And control is horrible. I'm out of shape :(
And at times when pressing B to pop up the secondary weapon/tool, the game
thinks I pressed long and changes my weapon... especially in a boss fight. And it's
a good thing they removed falling in hole damage, as I did that alot because of how
poorly link moves and bad A pressing moments.

The Good stuff:

Other than it might take some time go get into it, the story isn't bad, but why is Hyrule
almost like a post-apocalyptic place? =P

That's to reduce the load. Would you rather have more load screens than a little blur in the distance? Skyward Sword is a prequel to previous Zelda games, most notably OoT... so no wonder. :P

That's your problem, not a problem with the game. ;D

I finished it yesterday, I can safely say it's my second favourite Zelda (Majora's Mask will always be #1) and I wasn't hyped at all before the release (I thought it looked lame). I'm already playing through again on Hero mode, now that's a challenge. I don't think I will be seeing the Hylian Shield this time round, I don't think I can manage 9 bosses in a row getting hit for double damage and no way to refill hearts....

I had huge problems with Garagnahim or the scorpions because of the control.
I keep using the stab movement and it thinks im swinging (not even TP had this problem, with its lack of real motion sensoring). And while trying to return your sword to a specific stance, even if i TRY to go slow, the wiimote registeres it as a slash.

Anyways, I also beated the game today, and last boss was... easy. Maybe not weak, as it takes a load of hearts each attack, but still went down alot easier than some of the Garagnahim segments.

Quick: A spoiler You dont need to go throu all of them to get it, I dont know why it kept saying how many battles you have left

You need to get through 9 battles to get the shield. :P I did it on Normal!

As for the controls, I know it's off sometimes but you can recalibrate if you press "1" and then click on the lower left corner. I agree about the final boss... too easy.
