Don't know about actual timing in the game but it was the next release after OoT

yes, Majora's Mask is a sequal to Ocarina of Time. It seems like it played within a year after links get back to his child timeline

just played them both, it had to be. Link has The Orcarina in Majroa's Mask, which he was given in in Orcarina Of Time, and he fled Hyrule in Orcarina at the end.

Wind Waker was a great game, I've recently replayed it and forgotten how good it actually is. I just recently replayed literally all the Zelda games and Wind Waker was my second favourite, behind Majora's Mask

Really? That's a little shocking to hear. But I imagine that you're more of an RPG-style and missions player rather than a dungeons player. I liked everything from Majora's Mask, but hated Wind Waker b/c of the storyline. Although Wind Waker was definitely a challenge.

The dungeons are why I like Wind Waker, they are beautifully mapped out, and the story was great in my opinion. Majora's Mask had the best temples though, it's a shame there wasn't more. The story was excellent too, it was nice to get away from Ganon being the main boss.

Yes, it says so right at the beginning of Majora's Mask, he goes looking for his fairy Navi, who left after Link saved Hyrule, but got ambushed by Skull Kid.

yup. although in a sense, it's like most of the events of ocarina in time kind of never happened, since he was sent back as a kid. also, some ppl speculate, even the story somehow suggests it, that time in the Majora's Mask world passed slower than in Hyrule, as the beginning of Wind Waker pointed out the missing hero. That's why the place was flooded. But who knows. look up zelda timeline on youtube you have totally different takes on it, it's just easier to assume that there is no exact timeline b/c they didn't consider making one until halfway through the series. But Skyward Sword is supposed to be the first one.

I've completed the story, took me roughly 40 hours, it'll probably take me another 40 to complete everything else, this game is huge.

actually, it never said who or what he was looking for. Could be Navi, or Saria (or is it Salia? :P) (since she seems like she dissapeared with all the other sages after you beat OoT)

True, although it makes the most logical sense. Navi did fly away right after the Master sword was placed on its pedestal (or whatever it was). And if I remember the game real well, Saria mentions to him that something about her duties as a sage and not being able to return. So that kind of excludes her from who he's looking for.

Final Fantasies aren't related. They're all seperate games with seperate characters, seperate stories, even in different settings (universes, worlds etc).

There are spin offs, like tactics but they're just spin offs.

The exception to this would be final fantasy x-2, which was a direct (and shit imo) sequel to X, and the timeline flows fine.

That's not a long game. If it took me any less than 30-40 hours id call the game short, 40-60 i see as a good length for an rpg, anything above is bonus. There have been RPGs i've spent literally hundreds of hours completing.

I wont be getting this as i've tried zelda games before and it hasn't really ever been my thing. Couldn't really get into it. I also don't have a Wii, so there you go.

It'll probably take most people a lot longer and like I said, it'll take me a while before I complete it 100%. There's something else too, which easily doubles that time. It contains spoilers though, so I'm not going to post it here. Also, since when has Zelda ever been a RPG?

I'd classify it as an adventure rpg... your mileage may vary :)

I'd class, Pokemon and Final Fantasy as RPG's, games that have a turn-based battle system and require levelling up. Zelda is far off from being any kind of RPG. Xenoblade is probably the latest good RPG and it plays completely different to any Zelda game.

Has anyone here picked this up yet? I can help if you get stuck anywhere :)

Doesn't the fact she becomes a sage mean she actually died?

I always thought that too. Rauru was already dead. Saria was killed when the Forest Temple monsters got her. Darunia was killed by Volvagia because he didn't have the Megaton Hammer. Ruto got caught by the Water Temple boss and was killed. Impa went to seal Bongo Bongo again and was killed (she obviously failed to seal him away). Link severely injures Nabooru when she was possessed and Koume & Kotake finish her off. You free their spirits (or unlock their power) in Ganon's Tower when you have to shoot the light barriers.
