If I say I don't like dubstep it means exactly that; I do not like dubstep. Do not tell me I'm not listening to 'good' dubstep. I've heard a wide, wide range of dubstep, probably more than you have and probably long before you were; linking me to a track with a heavier drop is not going to impress me, it just shows me how infantile the whole dubstep fandom is when they consider the best tunes to be the ones with the heaviest drops. Alternatively, do not send me any watered down "chilled-out" dubstep either. If I want to listen to something 'chill' I'll put on an Enya CD, not a cluster**** of tempo-synced LFO with generic Vengeance pads behind it and a 'flowing water' sound on loop.
If you think there is good dubstep out there, please explain to me first what you think makes it 'good'. PS: a heavy drop does not make it good.
What I like about in what I linked a while ago (which is about the best stuff I've heard in dubstep as a genre) is the heavy atmosphere, not the drop. I know you didn't aim at me, but I just wanted to clarify that. Also, I like chilled out Dubstep, even if you don't, and you have every right in the world to not like it, even if the "masses" do.
One thing that is watered down, in dubstep, is the wobble bass, sure, it is cool to have wobble bass but nowadays, the wobble bass is too over done. Like: "Ok, let's make som dubstep with some DIIIIIIIIIIIRTY wobbles and screeches!!!!" also yes; the standard drop is very overdone and boring, that's why I prefer stuff like Burial, who sneaks the drop in without making it the main thing.

I don't really think it has a heavy atmosphere, especially when you compare it to industrial music or bands like Laibach & Skinny Puppy.

I mean "you" as in, collectively "you" being "the listener" =P
That's much much much better, sounds like The Orb slightly. Yeah, popular dubstep hasn't got any Dub roots and most kids don't even know what Dub is, they think dubstep came from drum n bass.
I remember hearing this before there was any kind of 'dubstep' as such and it wasn't even categorised as Dub, Jellybass were travelling with big sub units and just playing bassy chillout music. I'm not sure how big they are now if at all.

you've hit the nail on the head. Love the stuff that has that late 80s, early 90s almost Renegade Soundwave / 4Hero sound. Dank Dubby Housemusic so to speak http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYKadvALOD4&feature=related
