I know V-Station is what a lot of people use for their bass, but I'm wondering if there is VST that's free, or very cheap, that could give me the same quality and variety of basses that V-Station does. I've been monkeying around with 3xOSC but I can't get anything I like. The sound I'm going for is one similar to the bass in "Eastern Sea" by Lumin8 & Cheever. (Wicked track btw, one of my favorites. :D) Thanks in advance to any help and advice!

3 x OSC will give you good enough bass sounds if you just want something free. Albino 3 is good but you'll have to pay for that.

Snyth1 is the best free synth I've used. As good as ones you have to buy.

Make your own sounds :P If you must use presets, they go in the folder within the Program Files folder.

I usually just use a couple layers of 3x Osc with filters, drive, and whatever I might need :p I'm not sure it's available as a VST though, so if you're not using Fruity, I don't know if you can use it

Try, as Dante says, layering 3xOsc, and when u make a good bass try combining it with a synth shot (my friend told me about it).
