Anyways, I did preview the tracks, but their basicly all the same. The only one that where nice where Sound without a Name and Universe.
Sound without a Name - sounds better in low quality to be honest :P But overally the track is very Darren when was calling himself Unique.
Universe - This song got me thinking about Scooter - Coldwater Canyon, which isn't so bad after all.
Higher Ground - the live version that was uploaded a few months ago sounded different from this version. More true to the original. Original is better.
No, he lost money because you pirated it, if you'd paid for it then he'd have made money no matter how shit it was. Not that I'm criticising you for that, I do the same thing, but trying to justify it is retarded, you're still copying something you have no right to, whether you deleted it afterwards or not.

Wasn't worth the wait wasn't what I expected his Darren Styles first album was much better in my opinion still a few great tracks on there but yet again only a "few" to me it's like hes changed his style of producing it's like theres more trance influences in there and not just minor like a lot I do enjoy vocal cadence stuff but most of the time I just wanna hear upfront 100% banging Hardcore! :)

I never stated that any tracks in Darren Styles album weren't upfront Hardcore as everyone has said before his style is unique to other artist I just think it's changing and his tracks with trance influences are starting to make me play him less still without doubt an incredible producer

I wouldnt call him unique, everyone tries to sound the same as Breeze & Styles. Best example of that would be Stylys & Audiojunkie

That just makes everyone else not unique for copying him. And besides, if it's a winning formula, I say why not! Make what you like, whether that makes you a total sheep or the most crazy unique bizzare artist in the world!

darren styles isnt unique..
He's only unique in being less unique than anyone else. Everyone seems to have their own style. Darren Styles hardcore is so generic and boring, he earns uniqueness out of only that.

I really enjoyed the album.
Let's give some grades to those tracks!
Sound Without A Name: 8/10
*I wish he had kept the original's vocal, but this version of the track is very good indeed*
Holding On: 7/10
*catchy, but the vocal is just not my favorite, I find it's lacking something*
Take You Down: 3/10
*Horrible!*
Outta My Head: 8/10
Feel The Pressure: 7/10
*nice instrumental piece, but not an absolute standout. It might grow on me though, and I might implement it in my sets between huge vocal tracks when/if the single is released.*
Days Like These: 8/10
*that has to be the most natural I've ever heard Lisa's Voice, in Hardcore at least. Great song!*
Raining Down: 9/10
*man, that's what I like to hear! uplifting much? this one had me smiling and singing right away, kind of like Touch The Sun. ooooh oooooh ooooooooooooooooooooh*
Like A Bitch: 5/10
*slight improvement over the horrible Take You Down*
Pandora: 7/10
*the vocal is standard for DS, but the overall piece feels generic to me*
Universe: 8/10
*Beautiful melody and arrangements*
Open Your Eyes: 8/10
*epic melody and aggressive riff, I like! too much vocoders though...*
Take Me Away: 7/10
*This would have been a 9/10, if it weren't for the electro parts.*
Light Up The Sky (Acoustic Mix): 8/10
*oh Darren*
Breathe Again: 10/10
*wow, just wow. the best DS track in ages!*
Rock Me Out: 7/10
*this new vocalist is really not my favorite, but this is her best effort on this album*
Bassline Road: 6/10
Pacific Sun: 7/10
*I like the vocal bits he came up with, although an overall predicable and generic piece*
Shining Star: 8/10
Now Or Never: 9/10
*pop rock influences vs the off/kick, with beautiful melody. I like*
Symphonic: 9/10
*Beautiful! It had me wondering if it was Nightwish's old vocalist, Tarja Turunen. for comparison, see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvVQmAZdSV0* Amigos: 8/10 *YES to the whole vocal being used, why the hell wasn't it the case in the single version?* Sorry: 7/10 Silver Water: 9/10 Higher Ground: 9/10 *I was waiting eagerly for this one, and I wasn't disappointed at all* Air: 7/10 That is a nice, peaceful way to close the album. It could have been more memorable though* AVERAGE GRADE: 7.6/10

Re-Con does! And I think S3rl and Technikore do that too, am I right? Wasn't Sonic Vox, the vocalist in most of Jamie Ritmen's tracks, Ritmen himself? Chwyhnny sings her own songs as well. I'm not saying that DS isn't unique, to me every producer is in a certain way.
One thing is for sure, the fact that so many people aspire to be like Styles and emulate his sound takes nothing away from the man's merit. If anything, it just goes to show how much he brings to the genre.

Exactly! Yes those guys sing some of their own tracks but nowadays almost every DS track has his own vocals in it, not to mention the sole reason he is so popular is down to his own vocals.
He's responsible for bringing so many new ravers to the scene, and generally keeping it alive. People just don't like to admit this because they don't like how 'mainstream' is, but someone in the scene has gotta do their bit for commercialism or else hardcore could have quite easily disappeared into a black hole by now.
I will openly say I am not a huge fan of his but he has done loads of great stuff and even the stuff I don't like reeks of high-quality production. He deserves every bit of the fame he has gained because he is talented and has earned it.
I think we should be saying "good on you for making it big as a hardcore producer" rather than slagging him off.
