( Do not confuse with Breakbeat Hardcore )
So I've been buying tunes today ( Breakbeat Hardcore ) from various artists, artists which make both, Hardcore Breaks and Breakbeat Hardcore ( for those who don't know the difference, continue reading ). I only noticed later that some of the tunes were slower, and that I wouldn't be able to drop them in a Breakbeat Hardcore set. And that made me angry because it would mean I will have to timestretch them. Now my question is … why does Hardcore Breaks exist ? I mean look, it's shit. It has no history. It has nothing. In the 90s there was what people at the time called "Hardcore", now called Breakbeat Hardcore. It was around the speed of 170 BPM, and also had a Breakbeat like Drum & Bass. Breakbeat Hardcore still exists. And it's name hasn't changed. Then, in the 2000s, some ****ing idiot came, produced some Breakbeat Hardcore-stylish tracks, with the difference those being at the speed of ~ 140 BPM ( which means you could never use them in a Breaks set ) and he called it Hardcore Breaks. WHAT FOR ?!? WHY ??! This guy who invented it must really have been bored. Fail @ life I'd say!
It's like Hardscape. Seriously … wtf ? Just that the difference between Hardscape and UK Hardcore is about 10 BPM, not 30 >.<

think revs need a bit of a history lesson..
back in 89 - 93/4 the word "hardcore" was solely associated with slower dance music, 120-135bpm
(see 2BadMice, Praga Khan, Mark Summers, Prodigy, KLF, Fargetta, Baby D etc etc)
when the music sped up it started to branch off into the genres you know today "Happy hardcore" etc etc
now if they started calling it just "hardcore" again, that would be retarded, because everybody knows hardcore as a fast paced 4/4 168BPM+ genre.
thus Hardcore Breaks is "re-born" as such..
do i hate it? not really, theres some good tracks, but mostly its not my thing, i like the Hardcore Breaks remix of Rozella - Everybodys Free that was on one of the newer helter skelter albums

It needs more exposure and more releases for sure.

No, I already knew that. But Hardcore Breaks is ment to be a reborn of Breakbeat Hardcore! That's why it's so similar. And the Hardcore from the late 80s wasn't at all like Hardcore Breaks.
I mean, I DO like Hardcore Breaks, I just think it's extremely stupid when there's already Breakbeat Hardcore. I timestretch the tracks everytime and then it's okay, they sound like normal tracks. It's just the speed that sucks!

Hardcore Breaks is a reincarnation of the early 90's hardcore style, not break beat hardcore.

Haha everytime I want to post somthing, I just scroll down and someone already says it XD
Only reason you think they may sound similar is probably because its produced in the present rather than in the past? If you wanna get real oldschool, "rave" music was also around the same speed.

Hmm well it sounds very similar to slowed down Breakbeat Hardcore to me.
I have some tracks from 1990 or so and they sound completely different! ( 120 BPM Hardcore Tracks )

For the reason that it's not the same speed! Productionwise it's okay, well depends of the track.
