Read the guide years ago, never bothered to look it up again.
I would say I'm pretty good with flash, I've made a few all flash websites already and have been playing around with it for about 4 years now. A non-biased guide, as Brian said, would be very difficult.
I remember someone created a thread a while ago on the history of Hardcore music, which recieved very good comments on the thoroughness of it. Maybe we can start with a flash version hardcore guide, then expand into other genres if we want?

This comes up every year or so, Ishkur's guide is shite blaa blaa blaa. silver would host a better guide, make one if he had the time and so on. The thing is, silver has 10 irons in the flames (finnish saying, dont know how well that translates into english), people have jobs and shit to do. If someone wants to make this his or her project, just do it. People will chip in on little stuff, thats a given (i could like make clips on various genres or stuff like that). But if someone would make it, he/her/they would need to do countless hours of work with no benefit. Theres not many that would do such thing. And thats why these topics always end with no resolution, and come back after a year or so.
But when someone really is intrested in Hardcore music, whatever subgenre. Comes into the forums to ask help, just be polite and give good answers and we can make do without a shiny flash thingy.

a few of the substyles yep :)
just didnt want to confuse people, pigeon holing is "ok" to a point..but these days its got a little stupid - as ishskars "guide" shows..most of those styles he made up off the cuff to describe single pieces of music that had a few cross-over genres
the main aim is just the whole being able to tell the difference between the other styles and Techno
its almost done now, almost all the info has been added and sometime today or tomorrow im going to make a thread with the link to the finished version and ask peoples opinions on what ive written - and what they think is the best song to represent a style on the main links
and best song to represent the select subgenres :) i figured the more collective the effort the less complaints will be recived!

Yeah, I mean the most obvious substyles, like UK, freeform, gabba etc for hardcore, and not psyspeed uk gabbacore (you probably get my point) :p

Surely will be more interesting, because that Ishhar guide bashes very much musical genres (calling Hard House "stupid house" or Happy Hardcore "I feel like a pedophile listening to that")
