has elton had any hardcore rips?
There's a lethal bouncy techno version of Candle In The Wind on Dwarf Records
Ooh. If it's anywhere near as good as the version of the Bee Gees' "How Deep Is Your Love", I want it.

based on how many tracks I like/heard from both of them, I'd have to say Genesis/Phil Collins

Phil Collins, single handedly, destroyed the rock image. For many, many years rock stars had the style, and look that set them apart from your average, working class man, take Elton John as a prime example ( or even Gary Glitter ), exurberant clothing, costing hundreds of thousands of pounds, and Mr. Collins dress code, was a plain white T-shirt, disheveled denin jacket, and a pair of dirty Levi 501's, costing all of about £3.50 from your local Oxfam or other charity shop, thus making it possible for your average slob to dress like thier hero's of rock !!!
I couldn't give a shit what musicians wear! If I like their music, I like it regardless of their dress-sense! I think Phil gets more respect, because what you see is what you get, no gimmicks attached. He didn't have to create an image or be over-exuberant to get a record deal…

Interesting reply from someone who obviously has just come through the trials and tribulations of puberty, I was making an observation, from the pre MTV, MP3 disposable/downloadable era, when all we had was the BBC chart show on a sunday afternoon on a tiny sounding battery opperated radio ! or the odd copy on a dodgy Betamax video tape of your favorite band/artist.

oh yes- Phil Collins sings, plays drums and writes his own songs- Elton Plays them and sings them (not writing the lyrics) -Phil Collins has made the most money. Elton owns glasses.
I would rather listen to Elton John but as far as better goes the extra skills of Phil Collins surely outweigh any wig?

Definitely Phil Collins. I like more of his tunes plus he didn't write 'Candle In The Wind'!
