were having a heated debate over who is better, phil collins or elton john?
who has had any (deep?) persponal experiences with either?
does anyone know who has had more chart hits? (surely genesis hits count for phil collins aswel because genesis sounds the same as phil collins solo stuff)
if anyone could provide any intup this would be very appreciated and help me win this argument xxxx

There's a lethal bouncy techno version of Candle In The Wind on Dwarf Records

I think they're incomparable really... If I had to say one Id say Phil Collins because I prefer his stuff but I don't think he's any better TBH.

I have to second that, the Progessive Rock they did in the 70's was excellent stuff, real music! Elton John did alot of good music no doubt, but it was just pop music really!

Phil Collins, just for the plain and simple reasoning of his ground breaking work with Genesis.
Heard a couple of hardcore versions of Mr. Collins "in the air tonight"
but saying that, also heard a hardcore version of Elton's "Daniel"

I been thinking, and now I want to recant my vote for Phil Collins ........
Phil Collins, single handedly, destroyed the rock image. For many, many years rock stars had the style, and look that set them apart from your average, working class man, take Elton John as a prime example ( or even Gary Glitter ), exurberant clothing, costing hundreds of thousands of pounds, and Mr. Collins dress code, was a plain white T-shirt, disheveled denin jacket, and a pair of dirty Levi 501's, costing all of about £3.50 from your local Oxfam or other charity shop, thus making it possible for your average slob to dress like thier hero's of rock !!!

LOL, Im prime example of "working class" cant diss my own people.
(Tempted to go into the Monthy Python Working class sketch mode)
But lets be honest, as working class, I shouldn't be able to dress and look like one of my rock god heroes, I should only be able to afford, one of thier Black T-shirts, with tour dates on the back :P
