Gammer uses a PC with Reason, Cubase, Kontakt and a ton of other plugins. As well as a Virus C. And his choons are amazing!

Specs should be as high as possible! :P

Must people would take a Mac over PC for producing though.

get this for a computer it will cost u about $500 if u build it urself and with only 512 ddr ram but u can easly upgrade to 3 x 512 - 1546 ram for like $760 total.

get

amd barton 2500 and u can overclock it to 2.02

asus a7n8x deluxe

and m - audio soundcard.

and a nice custom case and u swill be 2 run everything easily. this is the setup i have and i can make whole songs with like 40 tracks.

also get cubase sx 2 and reason 2.5 as your software + a bunch of vst's and ur good 2 go.

but im warning u if u dont know how to build a computer u will have problems thats the downfall of being able to save money and have an awesome pc.

get a some who knows what they are doing to build it for you.

newegg.com is the best place to buy all this.

I personally don't like macs but several of the people I know who produce swear by them.

and for gods sake, don't connect your music computer to the internet; I've seen so many people loose works due to viruses.

if you don't know how to build one, go to a computer store and have it custom built and get a service warranty.

m-audio cards rock btw

I'm running a P3 700MHz, with 1GB RAM and about 240GB HD and an M-Audio 2496 soundcard.

It gets a bit sluggish at times, but I just bounce the audio down.... set up correctly PCs are the bomb!

I'm currently looking into setting up linux for music, I'll let everybody know how that goes

I use a pc with 2400 processor and 512mb ram...it runs ok but by the end of my mixdown i can't really produce any more so its just exporting and guessing. best to get at least 3200 with 1024mb ram if you wanna mix down properly. and it aint all just system specs - you need good vsts and good samples, and of course good talent
