I am also wondering if there is any program out there that you can play a song in and it will show musical notation and such ,just a thought I was reminising way back when i was in band class and remembered somthing like what I just descibed ,on my band teachers computer.so I thought I would see if any one knows what I am talking about because I dont it was so long ago.

Not necessarily. There are plenty of options - Cubase, Logic, Nuendo, Sonar....

As for Fruity Loops, it might not be seen as a professional package but it's totally possible to get a release-worthy original track out of it. If he wants to start off with FL then let him - it's not for you to say what's "better", because that's completely subjective.

Im not telling him to use it ,I was recommeding he uses it.

I never thought of the other programs at the time...Well ,Obviously he can use whatever ,But i reccomend Cubase over FL.

Deejaybee told me that stuff anyway..

And i was looking at a Producer and Engineer way.

Deejaybee started on Fruityloops and even had a release with a song from it.

I honestly think everyone should start with Fruityloops and then move onto the big stuff like Cubase, Reason, or Logic. It helps in the long run because you'll figure out stuff early on than with just throwing you at a big program with no where to go!
