You can use whatever sequencer you'll want, but if you use fruity loops it will really hold you backwhen you get better. I've been working on my first track for weeks now and I'm just starting to lay down a nice bassline. I've learned so many things, it's very hard at first but just keep trying like I did and eventually you'll start progressing :)

I disagree... fruity is a great place to start and doesn't hold you back. Its all about using your resources with fruity....sure if you don't learn master and fx your tracks sound bad, but its all about learning whats built into fruity and using more it can be a VERY good production programe if used right.

you can actually write some pretty decent stuff in FL just make sure you get some decent plugins to go with it ie something like reason
now if they only made it so reason used vst i'd be a happy camper =P

You can write the same stuff in basicly any Music program ,but where Dess is wrong is it does hold you back.If you want something pressed to vinyl,Dont think about having it done in FL as the sound quality is poo,Thats why you want Cubase Or Reason ,Although Cubase is the top top 1 ,although Reason is to though ,But the sound quality isnt as good as Cubase's and is pretty limiting as far as VST's go... At the end of the day.. you can do pretty much the same on all But As far as Quality goes ,Get cubase ,I Find it easier to use for producing and its all i use(With FL for messing around with riffs) And hopefully getting reason soon too... As for making trancecore...get yourself the V-station..Pro 53...Zeta....FM7 whatever and get learning...It isnt easy ya know ,But if you show devotion and will It will happen! :)....

I LOVE Cubase, it was a little confusing at first but now it's one of the best programs I've ever used

i write all my stuff in fruity then import it into cool edit to tidy it up, as for FL bein crap quality, maybe so but wen ya engineer it it can sound as good as cubase etc, any way there are a few producers out there that still use fruity, eg guyver and SHOKK, now there stuff isnt crap quality is it?!

I dont listen to those "Artists" But I've been told by People and everyone knows that FL's sound quality is crapl..Compared to Cubase whatever...If FL was as good as Cubase...Do you think everyone would be using Cubase? Or Reason....End Of...Get Cubase!(Marchhare)..(Or Reason...ReWire em.. FL is doodoo :)

Fruity is actually more of a pain to use than Cubase IMO. Yiou end up using way more channels than you need to. I suppose its cheap and gets you a basic idea of what to do but the sequencer is pans.

I think between Cubase and Fruityloops, you are alot better off learning on Fruityloops, as Cubase will just make things alot harder. Cubase is only better once Fruity starts limiting your mixdowns, in my opinion :)

I Dont think Cubase is hard at all...In the end you'l be using it....
I agree with saying start of with FL or so...But the fact is,Cubase IS better! Get it into your skulls [:P]
I agree with Hoekzema ,FL is also a pain in the buttocks :)

I'm sorry...but each person is entilted to their own opinion. Mine is that fruity doesn't hold you back until your actually gonna send demos out to labels thats when you need as Hard2Get said Cubase since fruitys mixdowns are limiting. Yeah you may end up using cubase later...but its always good to start on whats meant for beginners. once again this is just my opinion so i've said it and i'm not gonna aruge about it
