Just lately, it seems to happen every year people have been disscussing slowing down hardcore for various reasons and i just wondered what everyone else thought about it.
So far the reasons for it were
1) Its easier to dance to
2) It sounds better
3) It would be more commercially acceptable.
i think this
1) I manage to dance to it without drugs so evryone should be able to
2) Matter of personal opinion and if u like it whats the problem
3) **** commercialism if the scene survives i want it to survive on its merits, not just coz it sounds like Hardhouse.

My thoughs:
1) Its easier to dance to
bollocks to that, you can dance to it anyway!
2) It sounds better
Again, bollocks in my book. But I suppose it depends on you're own taste.
3) It would be more commercially acceptable.
******* THAT!!!! Hardcore must NEVER go commercial. End of.

Well im so glad that other people side with my opinions. Quite a few people i chat to about the state of the scene are getting to technical, and these people anit DJs or producers just ravers.
I dont want it to slow down, just to stick as it is.

happy hardcore with the exception of speedcore and gabba I feel should sit at 160-185 BPM always. I normally DJ at about 175-182BPM (I have an effect machine that can tell me my BPM)

Personally I love 170+ BPM, It livens things up nicely ^_^ But I have to admit that I do have trouble dancing that fast (Not that I want it to change). I am just getting to old I think :) Maybe I need to start taking E again and get myself back into shape!!!

I personally like anywhere from 160-190. anything faster is hard to dance to. anyhting slower is stupid.

Slowing it down would be a crime.. and if it went commercial I'm sure the governments would find something bad about it "Teens listen to it while on drugs... Happy Hardcore is concidered drug paraphanalia(sp?)"
If they can do it with glowsticks they can do it with our music.
(the previous statement is appearently true in the states, so says an article I came across)
down with commercializing!
Keep it fast!
keep it real!!!
*Sounding like a protester... scary*

1) No point, you'll probably be too drunk to dance with the rhythm in an hour anyway!!!
2) It doesnt sound better it sounds worse
3) Do we care??
I say bollox to these things 'cos as long as the scene survives i dont give a damn!!!

1) Some people will find it easier to dance because their r pansies, but real hardcore ravers can dance to it so if u get the hang of it, any will. People r too used to dancing to house & garage.
2) It will certainly not sound better. Hardcore has kept its speed for years and if it is slowed down, then it will not be hardcore anymore. It will develop into another type of music and real hardcore will fade away. So **** that.
3) Commercialism is the biggest threat to any underground dance music. If the scene has survived for this long then it has survived through its quality and popularity. Hardcore must never be commercialised or the scene will get seriously ****ed up!
Look at was happened to garage. Its shit now, whereas 4 years ago, underground speed garage was alright. Now its knowed as uk 2-step garage- shit!!

i like my stuff quite fast, if you pitch hhc down now, that slow kickdrum will sound like crap. if you brought back total breakbeats, and slowed it down, t'wouldn't be that bad tho
