It's more than had it's day, and this is a good enough time for it to come to an end. The main demographic that really cares about it now all have kids / failing kidneys.

I think so. As long as there is someone still carrying the flame for the sound we know it as. I don't think it will "just happen" as some big one-moment event, but will happen in waves of popularity. New generation of ravers will make it "their thing" and then it will damper down again.

Imo, the motivation/incentive to make hardcore has faded for a lot of producers. I've had to think of ways to make it worthwhile for myself but it hasn't always been easy.
The landscape has changed. live events will not be the same as before, due to covid. I no longer see people getting excited over production like a lot of us did back in the day. It's almost as if so much of the mystery has been solved, that no one dares to take it further, in that respect.
maybe if we saw it as an opportunity to get back to our daws and just love it again with all the experience we now have. and really prove ourselves with our craft.
Then, maybe hardcore will see a new day.

I think that people need to forget current trends and just **** about with production until something clicks.
Freedom to express is what makes producing exciting, but everything is judged by whats popular. Well now, nothing is popular, so its a great time to experiment.
The Hardstyle route for hardcore is not going to work, its just not feasible for the UK market, its just too slow and monotonous.
I think the energy is needed again, and a frantic bouncy techno style would be popular. But who knows. Vocal hardcore needs to disappear for a long long time.

Joey Riot / TLM / Audio Tantrum ? Future Bouncy Techno EP - but nothing else i dont think has came out?

not that i like it (I dont like BT at all), but if this starts to catch wind (after the 1991-1994 revivals), maybe proper 95-99 Happy Hardcore will be revived and not some modern updates (HHU2 *cough*).
Yes, that means vocals that Levzi's gonna hate, but he has to agree that would be better than what we've had for the past 7 or so years

Ive never liked Joey Riot, but he's nailed it in that.
That is something I could get on board with tbh. I hope it catches on cos thats the energy of the 90s brought forward. Good luck to him with it.
In fact, I liked them so much I even bought them, first hardcore i've bought in years. And before that was one track from Al Storm, which was also quite bouncy.
New hardcore music I like, i'm quite shocked, even more shocked I bought it.

There's no reason to believe that all homo sapiens will just spontaneously decide that 170bpm+ EDM doesn't sound good any more. There's an issue with people trying to be the next Darren Styles and there's a dearth of good songwriters (nothing new) but there's no reason to think it can't kick on again. I'm loving Frenchcore at the moment, personally. I feel like it's gradually becoming a lot of what people bemoaned UK Hardcore of not being.

No I don't at all. Vocals are boring , done to death and were the reason the 90's scene died. Because it made the music cheesey. The bouncy techno era was when the scene was at it's prime. THere were vocals but just samples and not one person singing. That era , which wasn't always UK wide either, in a new modern setting, would get the scene back. It would get fast and messy, and thats what people want.

Hardcore has had the same generic boring sound since 2012, seems like most people are still trying to ride the ~EDM Wave~ from years ago, j-core producers have gotten pretty bad too ever since they realized they can make money off of their music now.

Yall are being negative. It's survived this long. I'm pretty sure we've had this topic once every 5 or 10 years. People like fast music. As long as their are people who carry the torch, there will be core.
