I have a giant smile on my face and Hardcore is the reason.
Just saying
Hardcore is great isn't it?

Yes it is.
I'm actually enjoying sorting through my record collection because I keep finding stuff I haven't heard in years.

Same here. Apart from instead of records I was going through files.
The last 2 weeks I had given up. I was so depressed I kept questioning the point of my living. I spent 3 days in bed and stopped taking my medicine. I really gave up.
I have obtained some new music over the last 2 weeks and I woke up at 4 so I forced myself to get up and sort it out. Listening to them and then going through old hardcore. Clubland era stuff made me very happy and completely changed my mood. At 6 am I went for breakfast and then for a walk.
I have walked 3.72 miles today over 3 walks.
This evening I felt so positive I decided to try something I never thought I could do and I opened up my Windows PC and added in 3 hard drives. Without tutorials or instructions.
It took me an hour and a half to figure it all out but I did it and turned it on and they all worked I?m so pleased with myself. I was always scared to open up my PC let alone do things to it.
The drives were old drives that my Drobo said we?re dead or out of my old pc.
It?s all down to hardcore. It has the ability to bring me up from the lowest of mental states when I really need it.
It?s the 2000s hardcore I really love. Even though I wasn?t there when it was all new I love it more than the stuff that came out in the 2010s.
There is so much energy in that era of hardcore that I don?t find in today?s music or in Happy Hardcore. I do love happy hardcore and today?s music but my total 100% favourite hardcore is from the 2000s.
Hardcore saved me today.

I always find something new be it Hardcore UK or Hardcore NL, or whatever, that makes me buzz.
But then I also find a lot that makes me cringe.

Any time I've got the blues (which isn't much, I'm pretty fortunate) there's nothing quite like going through some classic Hardcore. Had a 4 hour binge of all things Next Generation / Blatant Beats the other day (96-04 in particular) and it was f**king awesome.
Trixxy, Fade, Brisk and Ham, Robbie Long and Devastate etc. Good s**t.

Yeah hardcore is pretty awesome like that.
You?ve done incredibly well to sort those hard drives out after a rough couple of weeks. And great work with the HH.com users mix. Haven?t finished listening to it yet but will do!

Thanks everyone for all of the nice comments. I have been reading them although I haven't had the time to reply until now. I like to write long posts on the computer, and my Mac has been giving me trouble since I updated to the latest OS in January. I have spent the last 2 days trying to fix it with no luck but more on that in a future post.
There are just some hardcore tracks that really bring me up and give me energy.
Here are a small few.
Sy & Demo - Devotion (Sy & Unknown's 2008 Remix)
Squad-E - Blue
Cascada - Truly Madly Deeply (Styles & Breeze Remix)
M&C - Magic Touch (Squad-E Remix)
Dougal & Gammer - Lifting Me Higher
Dougal & Gammer - Trust In Me
Flip & Fill - 6 Days (Styles & Breeze Remix)
E-Type - Rain (Styles & Breeze Remix)
Beat Commanders - Make You Mine (Supreme, UFO & MOB Remix)
This is the type of hardcore I love the most. It fixes everything. I enjoy a lot of newer and older stuff as well.
A few years ago when I was facing the prospect of a long stay in hospital with very little to do I started making mixes in Cubase. They were comprised of my absolute favourite hardcore tracks there were 20 on a disc. I ended up not needing to go in after all but I made 4 volumes of them. I may consider releasing them or re-making and releasing them. If you like that sort of hardcore they were full of it as well as some Happy Hardcore and modern Hardcore. All vocal tracks.
I am still in a really good mood. Trying to keep my hopes up that changes can be made to my life soon and I can get a proper life. Just waiting on social workers. How much luck I will have I don't know but I am trying everything I can do to improve my life. I hope they will see that as a positive thing and help me and not as a negative against me.
From my experience it's the lazy arseholes who want to sit on their arse all day and lie and cheat the system that get all of the help. Anyone who shows any signs of intelligence or willingness to improve is considered fine without help. Hopefully that is no longer the case. I'm still bitter from when the social worker told me I was too intelligent. Didn't matter about my severe disabilities. I had a brain that's enough.
Anyway. Still remaining positive and Hardcore is helping. I definatly lost focus on the older music that made me happy in my aim to collect every track and to obtain new music. Without considering that I already had an amazing collection. I was all about getting new an rare music even though I didn't like a lot of it. I'm only after the tracks I Really, Really, Really love now. If something new comes along and I love it I will get it.
Thanks again for all of your kind comments. What era of hardcore makes you the happiest?

Same. Although my favourite era is the 2000s there are some tracks I come across that were popular that I can't stand. eg Styles & Breeze Feat. MC Storm - Dark Like Vader. I really dislike this one but I know a lot of people like it.

Believe it or not I haven't got a lot from those labels. I need to find the time to go through them and pick out what I like. I only just went through evolution records I only had 2 Evolution Records tracks until a few months ago. There was so much I liked from it. Currently my favourite is I Became Hardcore.

It's amazing the impact music can have on the mind.
This forum needs a name change feature. :)

Thanks.
I was so proud of myself. Although I couldn't really see anything I was able to feel my way around. One day I want to build one my self. It will be easier my current one was built by someone who was rushed for time it's a real mess of wires inside and I don't think the motherboard is mounted correctly because the ports dont seem the quite fit in the IO shield. It's also really bad for temps considering it has a Noctua NHD-15 on it with 2 fans. around 75 - 85C when gaming. It's only slightly cooler than it was with the intel stock cooler.
But that's a project for another day.
I only just finished the mix myself. I think it came out great. Will be posting a summary and my thoughts soon.
