I've been to a lot parties in different parts of the UK and while we have a lot of good events. We don't seem to have anything even close to what the Netherlands has.
Is pretty unbelievable that a country with a population smaller than most countries can put on raves with production levels better than everyone, and huge crowds too.

Djs Mad Dog, Korsakoff & Partyraiser live at HARDCORE 2.0 (Q Dance)

Drokz @ Thunderdome

How do you think they are able to do it? Is there more of a disposable income over in the Netherlands?

I think that the scene is so embedded in the culture over there that they consider the big raves in the same way that we do big gigs/festivals.

If the scene was bigger or better thought of over here we'd have creamfields sized crowds at big events.

Yeah your right, it does seem to be more embedded there.

Would be interesting to see how a Q Dance event would do in the UK as far as crowds.

You've got to remember, we used to do it. Raves were massive back in the day, mainly indoors, but parties like One Step Beyond, or Dreamscape 20 etc, they were huge and had that vibe. Maybe not on the special effects etc. but the scale of it.

Then the criminal justice act came in and ruined it all. Then they fought back and did a party like Energy 97 from Helter Skelter, there were massive events with got knows how many arenas like the one they used to run in Skegness. (I forget its name, I think it was fantasy island)

We did some pretty decent indoor arena's too, SECC did the Big Bang, Sanctuary, there were many good indoor parties. But the arena's they use in Holland / Belgium are unreal, they are massive.

Their laws are so much more relaxed than ours , hence the freedom to do it. BUT they always have had the harder edged music, which wasn't as popular back in the day. It's gotten more popular now Hardstyle and Hardcore seem to be so closely related. The Frenchcore / Hardcore / Uptempo scene is exploding now, which is even more scope, all over Europe, but alas not in the UK.

We don't have anything really here anymore. I see the odd techno night in the backroom of a pub somewhere, and I think i'd rather save it n go to something in Europe.

The UK will NEVER get events on that scale again. Period.

Sadly the UK will never get anywhere near the likes of the Q-Dance or b2s events.

You guys would have to make the event free, as it would be criminal to charge people for that :)

The thing I don't get is the authorities let large scale crap music events like Glastonbury go ahead, which would have had way more deaths than Q Dance events in Holland . Yet they turn a blind eye to it. If anything Glastonbury should be banned with their track record.
The closest thing I thing I know of that the UK ever had was Rezerection in Scotland.

Your right though. Uptempo Hardcore is definitely exploding in Europe. One of the reasons I think Thunderdome back putting on events.

Haha I am guilty as charged for having a pimped up Ford Focus RS. Although the misses gets to drive it mostly.

Definitely up for the street car meet. The authorities will probably ban that too.

That's because most of the music is socially accepted in most countries. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if there was more drugs involved on the likes of Glastonbury per capita than a rave
