Of course, the difference is I knew that stuff from before, as I used to listen to that type of hardcore before this 'rave' hardcore we listen to on this forum :)

Are you thinking of putting more sub genres for each of the 8 main genres?

possibly on the ones that only have one or two yep! going to working on it tonight

but as per the first post its not supposed to be conprehensive in any way - its going to be missing a few, its just for someone who doesnt know dance music to get a very basic idea without getting confused - a genremap they can whip through in a few minutes

we're thinking of making a fully blown genre-map to go with it an "advanced mode" as such :)

would work on it during the day today, but have to go into town to buy the wifes birthday present!.......and possibly go see avatar ;)

this gabber thing is going to be tricky

i think its going to have to be hardcore > hardcore (Gabber) and with an explanation, because the majority of the world are going to want to know why it is

Hardocore....Hardcore and not just Hardcore....Gabber

the layout would be

HARDCORE

then in the "subgenres" section the word "sub-genres" removed
and just a list down the side

n00bs wont notice, but anyone who is "in the know" will see that due to some opinions it isnt nesciarily a "sub-genre" and maybe an explanation to go with it - leaving out the word "subgenre" also gives a little more room
for any other popular "hardcore"....gen...res... *hides*

gotta run for the bus, be back soon :)

I kinda think you should go with what Ishkur does, and list other names e.g. Gabber (AKA Dutch Hardcore)

EDIT: Speaking of Gabber, throw a PM to Knightmare's direction to ask for samples. I think it would be good that a person who really listens gabber, desides what clips to use. If he doesnt have programs to crop the files, i can do that. Or I can send a program to him that does it.
