Two things spring to mind:

A: Your cd's are in bad condition.

B: The CD-J's where either crap or broken.

One of the cds I used I had just got during the week and I bought the decks about two months ago and this has never hapeened before. Could it be anything to do with the pitch that I can get fixed

My advice would be to take/send the decks back for them to look at them if you've only had them two months.

I have never had any problems with any of the Pioneers I have used.... However I have had the numark axis skip on me... In the middle of a gig in fact, and even worse... the middle of a mix. At first we thought somehow the bass had cause it to skip, given the fact that the monitor was right next to the cd player.
Later I was told that the numak axis can be very temperamental if you’re playing a cd that had been burnt at a high speed. Could be something to watch.

which axis model do you have?^

I luckily havent had a skipping problem yet. even at high pitch speeds. reference; i have axis 9's.

If the cd is brand new the deck(s) might be the problem. I have cds that have gone to SHIT in my car but for some reason they dont skip on my tables at all. wierd...i know. hope it all works out for you.
