is it posstible to use headfones rather than monitors...
e.g. in conjunction with a good audio card...
being in halls is a problem to blast out music all time.
was thinking of something decent like akg's
any thoughts?

Not really.
There are special studio headphones you can buy, but my bet is they'll only be good as a reference.

was just wondering coz i was talking to this electro producer guy called 'jackson' or something...and he was producing in the airport while waiting....
guess he was just setting out ideas though.

Tell me about it. I had my hall card taken off me about 20 times and had 3 disciplinary meetings within a year.

I tried using headphones once (not studio ones mind you just my technics dj headphones RPDJsomethingorothers) and it didn't really work at all.

Well I doubt there were many brain surgeons in the airport that had come to the conclusion he was working on his greatest ever mixdown at that point! Anyway... who is he? Just cos he says he's an electro producer guy doesn't mean he's not just a kid with a laptop!

I use headphones when my parents tell me to shut up, but of course, I never use them for mixing down.

yea..he was actually telling the truth...told me the lable he was on...checked there website and there he was...and even said he was in glasgow for a set that weekend (uses ableton to dj by the way  )
cant remember site now...but was a french guy.
could probable google it and find out
