In 1998 Sharkey, Hixxy and scott brown (and possibly others) were all in the DJ Mag Top 100
its now 2004....and there isnt a single hardcore DJ in the the Offical UK top 100
LETS DO SOMTHING ABOUT IT!
http://www.djmag.com/vote.asp this year, lets rock the vote! You have five votes. Cast them wisely. You can vote for any DJ you like (including yourself), but remember multiple votes will be rejected. Points are awarded from five for a number one placing, to one for a fifth placing. Results will announced in DJmag and on this site on 29th October. heres the adress again - http://www.djmag.com/vote.asp if you want to view last years results they're here www.djmag.com/top100chart.asp i will try and get scans off the 98 issue of dj mag top 100 so you can see what it was like. *EDIT* taken from the DJ mag site: "Voting closes at midnight (BST) on Friday 1st October, so spread the word, get your friends to vote and support the DJs you believe deserve recognition for rocking your world." VOTING HAS NOW CLOSED: however - the vote page is still there - odd that! *EDIT* The Results are now up at http://www.djmag.com/top100chart.asp unfortunatly - it looks like only one "hardcore" dj is in - "proteus" here he is... http://www.thedjlist.com/djs/PROTEUS
once again Trance and House dominate the top 100
Just in! :)
174: DJ Issac (at least i hope thats refering to the gabber DJ!)
179: Scott Brown (i dont think i need to say who he is ;)
199: Hixxy! (again, im sure you know who he is!)
they posted the "next 150"

Problem is, it's a poll in a magazine that doesn't cater for hardcore so there was never going to be any hardcore DJ's there was there?
I will be voting Hardcore this year (as i do every year) but unfortunately it's unlikely to make much of a difference.

"was never going to be any hardcore DJ's there was there?" there was nearly every year up till 1998, then i think theyre was one in there in 99...then suddenly all gone.

Take a look at the amount of members on this site if everyone votes it could easily make an impact.

The only way they would make the list if everybody voted first place for the same dj.

Yes, i know that - i've read DJ mag since it started.
But, as i said - these days there isn't likely to be any hardcore DJ's featured. If the scene keeps going as it is there might be a change to that sometime in the future.
As long as Hardcore is looked down upon by the dance scene in general, it'll stay as it is now.
And to be honest, i didn't get into Hardcore just to be popular!

It's to do with recognition of DJing skills though not popularity.
