The difference that sets Helter Skelter apart from so many is that the people behind the name have a genuine passion for dance music and organising parties. We’ve been part of the dance-party movement from the day we committed the ‘crime’ of putting on an illegal outdoor event in September 1989, and fifteen years later we’re still doing what we do best – bringing people together to party (this time at fully licensed events, of course).

This September we’ve united with event organisers, of similar mindset and equal standing to us, to put on a ground-breaking festival which fuses many of the different genres of dance music together in one location, putting us all back in touch with the grassroots and original sense of unity that inspired a controversial youth culture that spans nearly two decades of British history.

Helter Skelter

On the evening of Saturday 9/11 2004 we’ll be set to bring forth a panoramic vision for the future of dance-party entertainment. Hosted within the Leisure Plaza, a state-of-the-art venue previously never used by any party organiser, will be a spectacular dance festival as never imagined or experienced before. The entire complex, incorporating three massive self-contained units, will have been transformed into an enormous festival site comprising of seven stunning music arenas, each catering for a different genre of dance music, and hosted by one of 6 world-class event organisers.

A labyrinth of tunnels will connect each of these multi-level arenas, allowing everyone in the midst of this frenzy of dance and energy to explore and truly become lost in their surroundings.

Whilst the nation sleeps soundly, this nocturnal haven of dance will be wide awake; electrified by 6000 livewires immersed in the atmosphere and flair of a colourful carnival atmosphere. These festival goers, from all corners of the diverse dance music spectrum, from ravers, to bass-heads, to clubbers, will unite in solidarity under one roof to celebrate the best of what the dance culture has to offer, and to enjoy new and even higher standards of entertainment at a gathering fashioned to cater for the recreational needs of the youth generation.

Be lucky – Be one of them.

A new era of dance is on the horizon…

The Leisure Plaza Complex:

A new dance-party destination with a 6000 people capacity, exclusive to Helter Skelter. Three massive self-contained units, all located under one roof, will be opened up to one another on the night, creating the first multi-arena, multi-level dance festival ever to take place at this site. Outside, under the night sky, will be the nocturnal village - a fascinating hive of stalls, attractions, recreational technologies and chill-out environments certain to capture the imagination of every night owl gathered for this extraordinary occasion.

Nocturnal Village:

By the time the masses begin to converge in the nocturnal village awaiting the opening of the music arenas, our set-up crew will be putting the final touches to a phenomenal production comprising of lighting, laser and sound technologies of an international standard.

Fifteen years of experience, knowledge and accumulated expertise will be invested into this huge Helter Skelter festival.

Accelerated Culture Arena
Accelerated Drum n’ Bass

Accelerated Culture audio dynamite in effect!

A Helter Skelter/Club Sidewinder collaboration:

for many the favourite D’nB party experience

From the luxurious surroundings of AIR, to the industrial partyscape of the Sanctuary Music Arena, to the green fields of the incredible Global Gathering festivals, the Accelerated Culture movement has swept across the country in style, attracting thousands upon thousands of bass-heads, and subsequently transforming the face and substance of D’nB event entertainment. For this event we’ll be presenting world-class D’nB at its very best, with a host of pioneers and prodigies taking to the decks and stage to provide the sounds and lyrical dynamite for the occasion. All this will take place in an extraordinary coliseum within the Leisure Plaza; a giant arena with bags of potential for the future of D’nB. We call you, the faithful Accelerated Culture massive, to come, go wild and celebrate the dawn of something immense.

Accelerated Culture is about to enter the next stage of its evolution.

Raindance Arena
The history of dance

Raindance A view of the future, a reflection of the past

In many respects we stand shoulder to shoulder with Raindance because we share in common fifteen years of history. Raindance held their first party in the Autumn of 1989, which took place in a giant tent on a football pitch on the borders of East London and Essex. Whilst the party people travelling to our first event had to avoid Police roadblocks to get there, Raindance made dance music history with the first ever legally licensed all-night party, heralding the beginning of the licensed dance-party era, of which we, alongside the likes of Fantazia, chose to become a part of. Raindance still continue the rave party phenomenon with their Old Skool festivals, and we’re delighted to have them with us to host the

Energy04 Old Skool arena.
