This song is so epic until it drops. I mean, what a ****ing wasted opportunity. He has an excellent breakdown and buildup and ****s it up royally. What an incredible tune that would've been had he kept the melody in the drop.
Gammer did a Radio 1 1 Xtra guestmix (on soundcloud). There's a big mixture of styles on this, to be fair there's some hardcore tracks (from what I've heard on the mix) inc. Us against the world. There's a track at 17m 20s, I can feel your heart beat, was sounding good before breakdown but then it went downhill!!!

I've always said, he can do what he wants. I just don't get why anyone thinks that sounds good. Massive build up of energy then a horrid, anticlimactic drop.

That reminds me of the rubbish that Klubfiller used to produce (possibly still does but Im past caring). Great build up and melody, followed by the most disappointing drop possibly imaginable. Absolute dog shite.
As mentioned above, Gammer can do whatever the hell he wants, but I struggle to understand anyone who would enjoy that.

I just find it interesting it looks like a good majority of new gammer fans ( monstercat crew) are already getting bored of his very boring sound. Here wer are, 10 years later, wishing he would still make the music we love, though.
not really hating beam of light, i still dont think it's hardcore, but it is loads better than the usual garbage. Though even so, looks like the group he is targeting now is already getting over the Stonebank sound. Which is the sound darren & gammer cant get enough of. Curious to see how this plays out.
Probably him disregarding "happy hardcore" even more, and just going full trap. So he can go " I gtold you so "

for what it's worth, i've heard worse from him. But yea, this isn't uncommon for him for the past 8 or so years. He and Dougal loved those minimalistic drops like butter

I mean honestly
**** me I'm famous
The horns of Jericho
(As much as I actually like this song) one for the Ravers
They seem to be one of the offenders when it comes to minimal drops.

Re-Con was an offender of that as well. I thought some of those minimal drops worked but most of them not. I still can't get over how good the Superhuman remix could have been if the drop had the melody from the buildup. Biggest disappointment music wise in 2017. :P

It's kind of like You and I by Darren Styles and Gammer. The drop wasn't the worst, but could have been better. Which is why I loved it when Rhythmics did his rifftastic version and it got turned into a proper remix!

wait, Rhythmics became good again after Breeze took him under his wing?

I think the worst offender in the minimal drop category is Lift me above by United in Dance (Styles, Dougal & Gammer). It was from around 2005 when this was unheard of.
I remember the first time I heard that epic build up and beautiful vocal, followed by what can only be described as a ****ing car crash. I skipped through the track in the hope that it was just a prelude to what should have been an epic riff and I still remember the disappointment when I realised that it wasn?t coming. I still listen to it occasionally just for that breakdown.
