I've been wanting to know how/what Breeze used for timestretching Blackout. I've not been able to do it right.. it sounds really crappy. Can anyone help me?

many ways to do it
- play a 33rpm vinyl at 45rpm but vocals go old skool papa smurf
- new decks such as vestax and gemini allow you to adjust the tempo of a track while keepin the pitch or key the same
- cool edit the bugger

I think everyone will know how I feel, when I say "OH GOD NO" as a reply to that comment.

I heard that Prosoniq Time Factory is THE program to use if you want to timestretch nicely. I don't have it but I think that's the same prog Hixxy & Breeze have been using to put some (haha "some") trance in their sets

Well, as far I can tell I'm not sure what Comet wants to do.
If its making a song fit within a certain time period can't you simple speed it up (affects speed and pitch).
But if you want to affect the speed with out touching the pitch, that can seriously affect the quality of the sample/track.

^^^ it does not effect quality if you timestretch... if you reduce the sample rate it will slow it down AND effect the quality

Surely it depends on how much you timestretch..... if you make the sample too long (slow) then the quality starts to deterriorate, although this can sometimes work to your advantage (I often timestretch by 400% to get this effect). Also, if you speed up a sample too much then it can sound a bit pants.... unless I'm after a particular effect, I try to limit my timetretching to 60-140%

It dosn't technically lose quality, just stutters (has small gaps) if it's timestretched too much.
Correct me if i'm wrong though :)

^^^^^ well sheesh, theres no need to be so pedantic hehe yeah, technically I think you are right, but by "quality" I was meaning how much it sounds like the original sound..... for instance, if you were slowing down a full track by timestretching it, and it started stuttering then that would have lost some of its "quality".... I guess it all depends on what you want to do with the audio.

Well then you *were* right :)
Although i wasn't being pedantic at all, not deliberately, i am not like that :)
