Well i know every says get technics but to be honest i ent a great fan of them anymore. If your gonna play in clubs a lot then get techs. If your just mainly gonna use em at home then these are definately worth the buy.

Im getting these numarks too.

Peace, love and unity

All depends on the specific numark model. Some are MUCH better than others.

Yeah...the TT X1 are great...also try the Vestax PDX 2000...a lot of people here dislinke them but hey...try them out (all of them) yourself at your local music centre, and then decide from there...

good decks....but notorious for wearing out after about 2 or 3 years

I personally think the advanced technological wizardry on the numakrs and vestax will be what prevents them from lasting. Unless made perfectly things like are prone to breaking. I reckon that's why Techies last so long, no frills so very little to go wrong or wear out after time.

I could be wholly wrong and proving my ignorance however. in which case, ignore me :D

yeh what he said.
if you put it into perspective...when your pitch slider wears out you get fluctuation in the pitch, where the track will randomly speed up and slow down - whether it's noticeable by ear or not it will still affect mixing....not too bad with technics as it's been proven they'll go for 20 years flawlessly then it's £19 to replace.

but look at vestax...they got 50% sliders = a hell of a lot of fluctuation.

and rezzna don't think you're wrong - i'm 100% with ya on this one

Well TTX1's cant of been proven to last only 2-3 years.. they havent been out that long ;)

True other Numarks seem to last about that long, only time will tell with the TTX1's though, they seem very very well built this time...

Unfortunately Technics now suffer the same life span as any other turntable because they are mass produced unlike before (my friend just had to replace a tone arm after 18 months). It shouldn't matter if you are playing out because you should be able to use any deck you're faced with otherwise you shouldn't be playing out.

Numark TTX-1's are the best deck I have use. It's the little touches the make the differenc like the way the platter is slightly thicker so you can slow the platter down without accidently touchin the record when you're drunk or whatever.
