Alot of the time, ie. Scott Brown and evolution tracks, when mixing Happy HArdcore, i find that BAssline/bassdrum transition is somewhat alot less smoother that say freeform.
I know that that is what HH is kind of about, because the quick change in bass and drums, if done correctly, can instigate a high level, and can become a effective rise in a set, and with the crowd response as well.
However, i've notice especially on Hixxy's Bonker Rezurection Vol 8, some of his mixes are really really smooth. I realise that he draws the mixes out alot, which enables this to happen, but i guess perhaps it is also his track select which enables the smoothness.
Ive been dJ ing 4 4 months now, and ive made a couple of cd's and am learning heaps and heaps from them.
When i mix in 2 songs i usually use my upfaders, keeping the track with the Bass on 10 and the track without the bASS on 8, and when i want to make my transition i sway upfaded positions and swap bass. This is the technique i use and...
I was wondering if anyone could lend a hand in developing my skills. Any one have and great ideas about HH Mixing.
