Old school has 2 meanings. One is the "old Scool" from around 92, the break beat HC @ 125-140 BPM.
And second use of "old school" is to describe any type of music that is in a genre but is no longer available or is of a style in the genre that has faded. EX: "Old school" acid house set would be records from like mid 80's while "old School" acid trance set would be records from 94-96... ^_^

PErsonally I'd say nothing tops 1995 not just coz its the year i first heard hardcore, but it was when Uk was just getting into kickdrum happy but was still breaky with labels like kniteforce, the netherlands were bangin out happy gabber and the rest of europe gave us all the happy rave popdrum anthems like Interactive - Forever Young and ULTRA SONIC! THey all blended in this era, sadly it was not to last

Id say old skool was the underground music around durin the late eighties and early 90's turn of decade era. I think of hard core, and rave and some hip hop mainly and some break beat house.

I agree with Glow_Stixy. When I think of old skool I think of songs like Daydream & Space Ace - You Are The One etc. I am probably totally wrong though so don't listen to me

Daydream & Space Ace - You Are The One is under the old skool section along with other tunes that you can't really tell a difference between them and the ones that are in the hardcore section. I ain't got a clue what is really classed as old skool but I sorta got my own weird definition. But that's worth f**k all so it don't really matter
