i'm working on a track inspired by darwin & entity's HU stuff... i'm gradually getting closer to finishing it, but right now i'm struggling with integrating two vocoders into the mixdown
(sorry about the two short empty gaps, those are going to be transitions. also sorry about the breakdowns sounding barren, i'm still working out a bunch of faux-dj trickery for them)
anyway, i was hoping to end the second chorus with an additional vocoder ("two turntables go off turntables go") to vary the melody a bit and support the main vocoder ("baddest dj on two turntables"), but the main vocoder is already taking up a lot of space in the mix (it doesn't help that there's also the lead and a pad playing). if you have anything to suggest (or request, e.g. a screenshot of the FX chain for a track), i'm all ears.

Well, what is your issue? If understanding the voice/words is the issue try adding some white noise to the vocoders carrier signal, maybe with a high pass around 300 Hz (experiment). All rules of thumb for the human voice and it's spectrum still apply somewhat to the modulated signal.

The scratch bits are awesome! I think the vocal sample is on the right path. suggestion: make the track shorter (say 5:30 to 6 minutes max). Narrow what you think are the main elements down. It'll make the arrangement that much tighter.
