Daft question I know! I've just ordered a Vestax PCV-150 and am still waiting for it in the post. Problem is I know it won't fit between my turntables (my current Behringer VMX100 is a squeeze!). How has everyone else got there stuff set up? Is anyone out there as capacity challenged as me?
I was thinking of putting it on a shelf above the turntables, maybe have it slanting for easier access, anyone done that?

i used to have a pic of my setup online but now its gone.
basically it's all in 4 units, the decks on top of 3 of them,pc monitor, modem and keyboard on another, with the gemini mixer slotted in between the 3rd and 4th unit. then built into the 2nd unit is my maplin mixer (where everything goes into before the amp) which is on the 3rd. cd player in the 4th.
like i said,i'll get a pic of it,coz it's all a bit confusing

You know... most people *build* something to put their tables and mixer on. Just get something solid for the base (like large cinderblocks) and then a large wooden board for the top. Makes sure it's stable though.

I'm designing a desk where everything can fit in, problem is I'm not good at D.I.Y! Plus my parents bought me a sort of desk where they thought everything will fit on ok, i know it was only fifty odd quid but I'd feel bad throwing it out after only having it since November!
I could put one or both turntables sideways, battle style you mean hardcorelover?

I dont have much space in my room.. I had to shift things around a bit to accomodate my decks..
I had a chest of drawers with nothing on top of them so I shifted them into a nice position and bought a 54"x25" (something like that) piece of blockboard (ultra strong) and put it on the top..
Holds the weight and does the job nicely :)

get yourself about ten 2x4's (in case you screw up =P), a sheet or two of osb, and a package of screws. i built my set up so that the tables and mixer would fit with a little bit of room on top and the shelf below it would store my reciever and tape/cd decks. then if you want it to look a little less ghetto you can stain it...
it also has enough room below that so i can slide crates of records under it so it makes nice usage of space =)

Yeah but I'll be ever in the danger of power-drilling a hole in my skull or hammering a chisel into my hand or something to that effect (I was never good at 'shop) =P

Get one of those big folding table dealies, that's what I have (You know, like at the company picnic? The ones that are painted to look like real wood with those annoying metal legs that you can pull out but never put back in?) All my equipment fits nicely on there with tons of room to put all the resto f the crap I have laying around...

I picked up a pine "workbench" from B&Q for something like £10 (it was in clearance), and that is ideal. Just the right height for standing at mixing, the decks fit on with a mixer, and plenty of room at the front for whatever I want to stick there (usually a bottle of beer lol), and theres a shelf underneath for bits and bobs, although you could keep your records there.
