It is ready, I could launch it right now if I wanted to but I have to wait for a duel announcement to do it. The other announcement is to do we re organizing bandwidth. I know I have said this in the past but it is ready and going live very soon...
I will let out some technical details on the chat. It is IRC based but on a private IRC network meaning we have full IRCop control and we don't have to worry about takeovers and general IRC kiddie crap. There is a nickserv to register your member names so people don't impersonate you, but you will have to do it, it is not automatic.
There will be a Java based window to chat and you can connect direct. We recommend you use the Java app as it displays small banners and helps us get some money for that chat, but we don't want to restrict the hardcore IRC people connecting direct.
The chat will be moderated and the moderators have already been selected, you know who you are. The channel runs a few bots that do kicks, CAPS checking, swear checking and general bot stuff.
If you don't know what I am talking about don't worry, the chat is coming.
