Having problems with downloading when using IE. Every time I download anything (picture, mp3 etc) I get a message saying The file contained a virus and was deleted. I haven't changed any settings or started using anything new.
When I switch to Chrome everything works fine.
Any ideas chaps?

IE has always had that setting since 8.0, I kinda hated it as it does delete them.

Same here. IE isn't the problem, you are Dean for still using it. Go to firefox there is no problems there.

Well we all know it's old since you're still using IE. What were you using before IE, Netscape?

I had this happen once Deanybabe - If I remember correctly it was something to do with adware/spyware that had attacked *Windows Defender*...
run every possible scan you can with malwarebytes, avg...all that good stuff
I use IE too, as well as FF - and they're both blazing fast, these whiners need to upgrade they're PC's if they are having issues with such basic software as internet browsers.
If I can remember the specifics of what I had to do to fix the problem I'll let you know!

i just would have suggested to switch to another browser.
besides the usual advices like cleaning the tmp files, cache, cookies, etc. you might also give a reinstall a try, but since internet explorer is kinda integrated into windows, you could as well reinstall windows.
