Has anyone experienced making a crap pad that sounds good at the time, and then you add something else and it changes the whole dynamics of the song. Thus happened to me last night. I made a powerfull pad. Problem is, now i made a pad with that high quality the rest if the song isnt as good/powerfull. Sounds too weak together. A bit like a dj mixing quite and loud songs. Hiw do i get around this or make the rest of the song powerfull.

Should post a clip. Hard to say if the pad is too strong or other elements are weak otherwise. ;)

Im gonna try filter chaining the main part of the pad under the lead build to fill it out a bit and in turn raising volume.
Thats the last time i change an element in a mix.
This mix is due to be mastered on friday! :)

By pad i assume you mean the metallic sounding lead thing. It's just a bit loud that's all. Maybe you can also take some of the bass of if appropriate.

Its fine sorted now. What it was is because the pad is so powerfull compared to the rest i had to split tracks and increase volume. Also some sample swapping etc. finished tracking niw gonna keave it till tomorrow and start mixing and then get it mastered on friday. ;)
