I hope this helps some of you avoid a horrible situation.
I've done this for a while with dropbox, but I've never had enough space. I've just found out about copy.com who are currently offering huge free storage for referrals. 15GB, plus 5GB if you follow someone's referral link. Mine is here ;)
Windows, NTFS has a very handy tool called MKLINK, which allows you to associate one folder with another regardless of where they are. So it can be used to link the contents of a folder with another, say in the copy.com or dropbox folders in your mydocs linked with your project files, but would also work with any other important docs, pictures or music.
Download and install the desktop client for copy.com. And follow the instructions below, which happen to be for dropbox, but can be used to link any folder to another.
Example
mklink /d "C:\Users\*REPLACEWITHUSERNAME*\Copy\Projects Backup\" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Image-Line\FL Studio 10\Data\Projects"

cloud storage is all well and good....right up to the point you remember you live in the UK Countryside - and that your upload speed is around about 15kbps - which means your Cubase projects folder which is around about 20gb will take about 15 days continuous upload not to mention the rest of your important documents which amount to about 200gb
until my internet catches up with the rest of the UK I'll have to continue burning off data to bluray. :/

Haha, what use is 20gb if you are unable to fill it before Christmas.

why don't you get an external hard drive, maybe 2 of them? there are plenty out there that will hold way more than 20GB and they're not as expensive as before.

I have several external hard drives! some of which are used as backups, but I still back up to Blu-ray. Can never be too safe!

I have one or 2 external harddrive cases and a "slot-in" for SATA disks, so I have alot of tools for backuping :)

In a discounter they regulary offer external 1 TB hard drives for lesser prices I paid for 80 GB ones approx 10 years ago. Times are changing fast...
