you could say i'm a little lego mad, i remember having three (proper) lego boxes when i was younger aswell as an assortment of technic sets, system sets including this set.
ones i currently have
i'm a big kid at heart, i'll be seeing about getting either this or this in the near future hopefully but a lot of money would help :D

How many of you actually played with Legos? I remember 95% of it being building them and going through the catalog and dreaming what i could ask for next Christmas.
I received both kinds of LEGO's: complex buildings which I built straight as shown in the instructions manuals plus the standard known cubes to create my own stuff.

That was how I grew up as well, but at the age of 3 I quickly switched to LEGO, because I found Duplo was way too borning. For both of my nephews it's not the matter of age, but the oldest one is turning 5 in October, but he can't handle any small kind of frustation at all and I know how he treats his toys. He's not ready yet to play with it. And my youngest nephew today tries to copy his older brother in his behaviour. He's 2 1/2 now!

exactly this way we with me as well! I've never bought our kids any new lego - partly because it's so expensive and mainly because it's all movie/comic shite now.
you are complete wrong mate, they have good sets too. i checked the Creator one when i bought that dinosaur one months ago, they are pretty solid!

i guess i found a good pic
Must be from 1991? Slightly before my time, never really went too much towards Space but had some Ice Planet 2002 & Space Police 2 sets. Got a Blacktron set as a rerelease in a bag as part of a special with other small sets, think I even got a UFO set from 1997. For me it was Pirates until 96 and then more of a Town, real world builder from then onwards

I won't let my 2 year old have duplo, it's rubbish. I'm starting him on the strong stuff early and skipping the rubbish phase.

I wouldn't let my kids have duplo either, most parents should know that they'll grow out of it very very quickly and be onto the harder stuff in no time at all.
The moment your child learns not to try and eat non-edible items is the moment your child is ready for Lego! :P

Hell, I chewed on LEGO into my early tens... mostly because it was easier that way to remove the smaller parts :P
