Have like 6-7 old hard drives, does anyone know an easy way to connect them to the computer? Like is there some sort of adapter like IDE to USB or something like that?
Also how do you get rid of them, without someone getting to know what type of adult entertainment you watch?

opening it up and breaking the disks is the fastest way I guess. Deleting and rewriting would take to long I believe.
If you can still get them, try finding a USB cabinett for IDE/ATA.

You'll want something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812156017 If you plan on using them regularly then you might want a dock that you can pop them into. And once you are done, make sure you actually wipe everything on the disk before recycling them.

Something like that?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/DIGIFLEX-SATA-Adapter-Cable-Hard/dp/B004JO1Z52/ Edit: Found a finnish store that sells them, so purchased one of those IDE to USB cables with an external power adapter. After i've gone through them to see if theres anything worth saving, going to have to try to format and brake them.

That's more like what Serenity posted, but yea, it should be enough. I got a docking station for my SATA 2.5/3.5" drives so I dont need mounting anything

Here's some free methods for wiping the data. I haven't tried all of them, but I know the write zero's method works. http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/tp/free-data-destruction-software.htm

You can get converters to plug them into USB yes. If you want to destroy them just take to them with a drill or hammer tbh.

Would a nail gun do the same job? That would be easier for me, since my metal drill bits aren't that good.

If you do that, make a video!

Yup, just smash a few nails through it at various spacings and it'll be as good as done for. If you happen to have a high powered magnet around run that over it as well. That will help corrupt anything that might survive.

Sledge hammer. And then fire.
I dismantled a hard drive once. Had the strongest magnet in ever.

Hope it works for you. The adapter I had to use before for my job absolutely blowed. I always just set it up via a dock hooked up my SATA port on the front of my computer. Much easier.
