Definitely yes! So far I've understood that the original Melbourne Shuffle was invented in the 80's and even older forms of Shuffle do exist. In the 70's it was done in Disco music and once I've even read something about a existing Shuffle dance from the 1920's. And everytime I see a good talented pair dancing to Rock & Roll very well including all of those twists and turns, it looks like they're raving.
But to be honest: I really do believe that all kind of dances have already been performed since the beginning of human being. Simply have a look at a ceremony of native tribes all around the world! And even the music is compareable if you listen carefully!
